Everything is set up (except for games, but since I mostly switched over to console gaming there's not too much of that) and everything is back to normal in my study, here.
So I spent the afternoon watching The Two Towers, and the early evening working between two towers, with Steve, swapping hardware. (Secondary drive, NIC, video card to the new tower.) Is it too geeky to nickname the new tower Orthanc? (Minas Morgul is too much of a mouthful.)
I'd forgotten how very very annoying Vista's 'security' measures were. I have Vista on the laptop, but I shut off all its most annoying features years ago, and fortunately, I still remember how. Probably because I was doing tech support when Vista came out, and had to have people turn it off before we could do anything - and I do mean anything - multiple times per day. We were supposed to turn it back on when we were done, but...of course I can't really make anyone do anything, and call time is important, isn't it? *halo*
