I'm feeling better today. I took the day off to rest and sleep (I napped from 11am - almost 4pm) and watched some DVDs the rest of the time. Let me put in a plug for the new DVD set of
The Lone Gunmen, one of the best shows you didn't watch in 2001. My favorite episode has to be where the government was doing studies on chimps and one of them had become superintelligent. The chimp (named Peanuts by his captors, but took the name Simon White-thatch Potentloins for himself) e-mailed The Lone Gunmen for help in escaping from the government facility. My favorite scene is where a government scientist sees Simon typing out the works on Shakespeare on a computer, but when the doctor goes to get people to see, Simon alt-tabs away to another window where he's banged out gibberish. Once people stop watching him he pulls up another word processing window where he begins to type his lifestory entitled "A Short History Of My Demeaning Captivity".
In other news, Press The Buttons was posted on Slashdot yesterday. And I wasn't even the one who submitted it! It gave me quite a nice traffic boost without melting my host server. Someone on E2 commented that PTB is just a scheme to get more XP, but that's not my goal at all. My goal is to have my work read by the masses. I'd love for it to lead to some freelance paid writing work for a gaming publication.
