Why me.

Customer comes in without an appointment and says that her rear windshield just blew out on its own with nothing happening to it. Now, I don't know how many of you know this but the front and rear windshield of cars are safety glass and while they will shatter, they will not break and fall apart. The nice thing about that is it is easy for me to see the point of impact to determine what hit it and where.

This person decided to push the safety glass into a box and throw it away so that I could not decide if what she was saying is real or not. Mind you I have never seen a rear windshield glass just break on its own. I have seen times when in the winter time when the glass is cold and you leave the defroster on for too long it can break. I have also seen a side window break when someone slammed the door shut in the summer when the car is very hot on the inside because of air pressure. Just not what she was saying.

I offered her a ride home since she didn't have an appointment and I had all of my loaner cars out. She decided to start screaming about how I WAS going to give her a car even though I didn't have one and if I didn't have a loaner to give her I should just put a plate on a car for her to have. None of that was going to happen. I ended up giving her a ride home to get her out of my hair because I didn't want to deal with her anymore.

She had to insist that she was not going to pay for anything and I only told her that I had to talk it over with the factory just to make sure that they will cover it. This was a very strange situation with absolutly no proof as to what happened because she decided to get rid of it. When I talked to the factory I laid everything out, including her service history, and even though they have never seen it before they decided to give her a one time goodwill replacement.

When we told her all of this she doesn't thank anyone for it. She just says that's how it should be done and hung up on my service advisor. I really hate people sometimes.
