- aqua teen hunger force:
Frylock, Meatwad, and Master Shake provide mindless entertainment. It's one of my guilty pleasures. Long live Adult Swim! - chocolate:
Do I really need to explain the love of chocolate? I prefer dark, though I won't turn down milk chocolate. White chocolate doesn't count. The Husband partakes of the Hersheys, though I have an undying love for Godiva, Dove, Ghiardelli, and Truffles. Yeah, he's a purist and I'm a chocolate snob. It still works, though. - duran duran:
I am probably The World's Second Biggest Duranie, right after heldincontempt, though, some days that may be debatable. I have adored them since I was, what? 11? I have seen them in concert multiple times and have every album (minus box sets) in either vinyl, tape, or cd. I still have my pins and, somewhere, posters/lithographs from Rio and Seven & the Ragged Tiger. I have much Duran-related useless trivia trapped in my head. It's a sickness, really. - frugality:
Basically what it boils down to folks is I'm a cheap bitch. I rarely buy anything unnecessarily. When I do make purchases, there is much agonizing, coupon-usage, grocery-store-discount-card-usage, only when/if it's on-sale (with a coupon is a bonus). I'm not nearly as frugal as I'd like to be, but I'm working on that. dagnabit is my role-model. - kitaro:
I have adored Kitaro's music for a long time, not sure if it was high school or college, but it's been a long time regardless. I really dig New Age music and probably don't listen to it nearly as much as I used to. - mst3k:
Does it get any better than two guys, three robots, and really bad movies that deserve to be mocked openly? I didn't think so. I really need to get some of this stuff on DVD. - neon genesis evangelion:
Recently got into this anime series (even though it's like ten years old) while mindlessly watching Adult Swim about 6 months ago. There's something about post-Apocalyptic anime that's really intriguing. I'd like to actually catch the whole series from the beginning. - quakerism:
The Husband and I stumbled into Quakerism while exploring school options for The Boy prior to his Kindergarten year. We were Attenders for a while and then became Members about 3 or 4 years ago. It definitely had an appeal for me where I have a spiritual feeling during Meeting without the clergy representation. The silence is at times unnerving, but mostly refreshing and the one hour of calm in my week. There are several of the core values that I still struggle with. It's definitely a work-in-progress kind of thing. - roller blading:
This is something I did a lot more of before I had kids. I'm not sure I've done it at all since having The Girl. I still have a pair of blades, but they were my ex's that he left behind. They fit fine, but I'd like to have my own pair. The Husband has a set, as does The Boy. We all need practice, I'm sure. The Girl might be old enough for an adjustable pair that straps on to her sneakers or something. Need to look into that. - sushi:
I was introduced to sushi by a Japanese exchange student during my Junior year of college. Another exchange student in my Senior year helped broaden that experience by making me try new things without telling me what they were first. I brought my mom and aunt along for the ride and the three of us would go out every so often to enjoy sushi at the local Japanese restaurant. I don't eat it nearly as often as I used to. The Husband and I used to get sushi quite frequently from the mall food court, but we're trying to eat out less often (see frugality above).
