Excuses, excuses

So, y'know why I haven't made an LJ post in, like, 1.5 weeks? It's because my new guy (whom I may admit is my "boyfriend" at some time in the near future) keeps taking up all my time! Seriously, like, the day two weeks ago where I was all cranky and wanted to do nothing while still being restless? He came over and watched TV with me for 2 hours (before sleep-time).

It's been lovely and easy, and I should really make a day-by-day chronological post that at least hits the highlights. But this feels like a lot of effort at this point.

Wed - Mar 18 - Dinner with 2 of his coworkers. ("Wait. Don't C and D dislike me and think I'm weird, respectively?" Well, they may think I'm weird now, but they probably don't dislike me.) Followed by getting to see his office, meeting a third coworker, and getting home later than I should have.

side-note: Is it just me, or is everyone into playing the drums these days? I bring this up because when I asked coworker #3 what he did with his time, he answered in that vein. Like, I used to joke that I'd have to raise my kids to be drummers because people always need them -- including me -- but it seems like fledgling drummers are becoming more common.

Thurs - Mar 19 - Cranky!Janine wants to avoid the world while being social. Man comes over for 2 hours or so to watch DVDs. (Extra impressive when you realize he lives over by MSFT and not in the city. Driving that much for 2 hours of time? Neat.)

Fri - Mar 20 - Drinks in Ballard with strand and Xuyen. Finally have introduced the man I'm seeing to friends. They like him, possibly for the way that I totally volunteered him to drive strand from the bar because I'd had a shot too many for driving at that point. [Remainder of evening is the story of being X's "jealous and awkward significant other on the dance floor".]

Sat - Mar 21 - Have now been to his house, foiled his cat's plans to get to second base with me, and met some more of his friends. (Worried that they didn't like me because it may come off as snobby to be the one person in a casual house with kids who is wearing 3.5" heels, but that's just who I am! <-- Later found out this wasn't drama. Whew.) Both dressed for dinner (and looked ridiculously sexy). Went to awesome acapella doo-wop show. (<-- note: He can plan when cajoled into doing so!) Back to his house for cuddles with cats and TV. Left way later than I'd expected.

Sun - Mar 22 - Hah! Someone who will rollerblade with me. And also, will make sure I've eaten. (Oops.)

Mon - Mar 23 - Dinner at steakhouse with one of his friends. I'm pretty sure I get along well with this one.

Tues - Mar 24 - Getting sick, I declare that I'm not doing anything, but that he can help me clear out my DVR if he wants. You can guess where this is going.

Wed - Mar 25 - Mall time (hey, coupons) plus more DVR clearing.

Thurs - Mar 26 - DVR clearing and the amusement of "left the door unlocked because I'm blow-drying my hair. Let yourself in." My life is oh-so-exciting. **rolls eyes**

Fri - Mar 27 - Target, Chinese take-out (OMG. Domesticity: "we" have a Chinese take-out location), and more DVR clearing.

Sat - Mar 28 - He foolishly suggested picking me up (and then dropping me back off) for meeting 2 of his friends to see Watchmen. So we did coffee, saw the movie, were social, and then wandered around Pacific Place mall till Tiffany and I met for dinner.

I really ought to make a filtered post about how I feel about things and maybe give some sweet and awesome details (e.g., fashion-as-an-analyzing-game, car door holding, etc.). But I did that out loud with Tiffany last night, and with X the previous Friday. I may never get around to writing anything at all.

Now I'm off to blow-dry my hair and hit Target . . . before he comes over for a bit, of course.
