random earworms
Randomly, suddenly, I find myself singing/humming "Que Sera Sera". Randomly, suddenly, I feel like I should compile a list of what earworms1 affect me, because I do wonder if earworms are universal, or if different people are more sensitive to different musical characteristics. It has definitely shifted over time for me, because I used to get Yuko Sasaki's "Pure Snow"2 stuck in my head ALL. THE. TIME. in college but now is probably the first time I've even thought about that song in a few years.
1 Incidentally, every time I hear the word "earworm" I can't help but think of the worm from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (according to Memory Alpha, it's apparently called a "Ceti eel").
2 Pure Snow has absolutely NOTHING to do with cocaine (though it is apparently a hell of a drug), oh hell, just listen...
