Today at lunch, one of my coworkers espoused a firm belief that it is better to speak up and be wrong than to sit silently.
Sadly, this explains a lot.
We had figured that he was just operating under misapprehensions, facts from dubious sources, etc. But no, it's just a firm belief that it's more important to be heard than to be right.
Even after evoking the old aphorism of, "Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt," he criticized the tendency of others to sit quietly and only speak from knowledge.
Wow.
