Stabbed Roma Boy Still in Critical Condition

The fifteen-year-old Romani boy who was stabbed in the abdomen with a half-meter-long sword on Sunday in the early afternoon on the 21 bus in Budapest, Hungary, is still in critical condition. In an announcement by the BRFK Communications Department, it was confirmed that someone in an as-of-yet unidentified group of six people wearing military clothing was the attacker.
The child's mother tearfully recounted yesterday's events to the Roma Press Center: "My son and two of his thirteen- and fourteen-year-old friends were going to Normafá to play football. They were sitting on the 21 bus, when six young people in helmets and armed with swords and daggers attacked them. The attackers asked my son, "So, what's the problem?" After this, one of them immediately stabbed my son in the abdomen. After this they got off the bus." At last the bus driver called the ambulance, my child was brought to the intensive care unit of the János hospital, where they removed his spleen in a seven-hour surgery. His mother believes "They stabbed my son because he is Roma, and they hate us. The doctor thinks my son entered the hospital in the condition of someone who had been executed. It will still be three or four days before it is clear whether he will survive."
According to the BRFK Communications Department, Sunday around 2:10 pm in Budapest's district II, on a bus ready to leave the bus stop at Várok street, the boy was stabbed by one member of an as-of-yet unidentified group of six people dressed in military clothing. After the incident, the attacker and the group that accompanied him fled from the scene by foot. The head investigative unit of the Budapest police department has begun an investigation into the matter.

Free Democrat leader Gábor Kuncze and Budapest Mayor Gábor Demszky on Tuesday asked Budapest Police chief Péter Gergényi to take all necessary and lawful steps towards catching a group of attackers one of whom stabbed a Roma teenager near Moszkva tér on Sunday. The boy was rushed to János Kórház hospital in a critical condition.
Police offered a Ft 500,000 reward to anyone offering vital clues as to the identity and whereabouts of the assailants. Detectives managed to identify organisations whose members wore military garments, weapons and shields while taking part in functions commemorating the end of World War II in the Buda Castle district. "Budapest rendőrfőkapitánya bruttó 500 ezer forintot ajánlott fel a nyomravezetőnek, aki az elkövető személyével kapcsolatban olyan pontos adatokkal rendelkezik, melyek segítségével az elkövető azonosítható" - olvasható a BRFK honlapján a vasárnap történt bűncselekménnyel kapcsolatban.
A Budapesti Rendőr-főkapitányság Nyomozó Főosztálya emberölési kísérlet megalapozott gyanúja miatt folytat eljárást - egyelőre - ismeretlen tettesek ellen a vasárnapi, II. kerületi brutális támadás ügyében.
Vasárnap délután egy budai autóbusz-végállomásról indulni készülő buszon egy egyelőre ismeretlen, katonai ruhát viselő hatfős társaság egyik tagja megszúrt egy 15 éves budapesti fiatalembert, akit a mentők életveszélyes sérüléssel kórházba szállítottak. Az eset elkövetése után a támadó és társai a helyszínről gyalog elmenekültek.
A feltételezett elkövetők:
Az elkövető 25 év körüli, vékony arcú, vállig érő, fekete hajú, lófarkas, körszakállas férfi, aki fekete bőrdzsekit, fekete nadrágot és bakancsot viselt. A társasághoz tartozott még egy 24 év körüli férfi, aki sötétzöld rohamsisakot, zöld katonai zubbonyt - feltehetően régi magyar gyakorló ruha felsője - és bakancsot viselt. A társaságban volt egy 20 év körüli, sötét, vállig érő hajú nő is, aki fekete vászon kabátot, kék farmernadrágot és tornacipőt viselt. A társaság tagjainál két darab - egy fából készült, lakkozott, kerek és egy címerpajzs alakú natúr fa - pajzs, két darab kard, valamint egy rohamkés volt.
A Budapesti Rendőr-főkapitányság Nyomozó Főosztálya kéri, hogy aki a grafikán látható csoport tagjait felismeri, jelenlegi tartózkodási helyükkel vagy a bűncselekménnyel kapcsolatba érdemleges információval rendelkezik, hívja a 443-5000/31-694 telefonszámot, illetve tegyen bejelentést az ingyenesen hívható 06-80-555-111 "Telefontanú" zöld számán, a 107 vagy a 112 központi segélyhívó telefonszámok valamelyikén.
A Roma Polgárjogi Alapítvány közleménye szerint a tizenöt éves roma fiú két nem roma barátjával focizni indult. A fiú élet és halál között van, a kard átszúrta a gyomrát, a máját, a beleit, a lépét el kellett távolítani. A Roma Polgárjogi Alapítvány szolidaritását fejezte ki József és családtagjai felé, egyben a leghatározottabban tiltakozik a brutális támadás ellen.
