I actually went partying last night! At Zouk!
What's the big deal, you ask? Well, considering the fact that I know the layout of the National Library better than any clubs in Singapore, this is a big deal. My few encounters with clubs in the past year were restricted to media and tenants' events. Since the events were mostly held in the afternoon and attended by pretending to be serious folks, they were not exactly very "happening". The most amusing thing that occured was this cab uncle who drove me to Zouk during a weekday afternoon event. He threw me a questioningly look and asked "You sure you want to go to Zouk now? Zouk not opened for dancing yet leh!".
No uncle, I'm not that hard-up for dancing.
Ok, ok I admit. Last night was my tenant's, Monsoon, hair-show at Zouk. I was there with my marketing colleague to "show support". Actually, judging from the crowd last night, the support was overwhelming, no need us lah.
After the show (which I spent 2 hour hopping from one foot to another due to my ache-causing heels), my marketing colleague left to be a good daddy to his one-year old baby girl. A friend and I decided to hop over to Velvet cuz well, there wasn't a plastic surgeon available to make us a decade younger so as to blend into the crowd.
Velvet was as I remembered it a year ago: packed with willing preys and sharp-eyed predators. One thing has changed though, there were certainly more "exotic" flavoured preys in the house.
An hour later, we had our fill of the club. Yeah I know, once a nerd, always a nerd. I think I'll stick to the pubby life. Safer music, better drinks, audible conversations. ;)
