NaNo plotting

Last year for NaNo, I used a portfolio to keep everything I needed to hand: plot outline, maps, word count table (great motivational tool, that one) emergency word-addage scenes....

I've just started to put things together for this year's NaNo season, and my evil muses have come out to play - and for once, I'm not talking about red rangers. It's Adam and Tommy, of all people.

This year, I was planning on writing the Aisha/Kim story I'd been sitting on.  Instead, perhaps because I've been spending a lot more time with them recently, Adam and Tommy want to get in on the action. They are insisting I work on the First Impressions 'verse.  Now I'm really torn...Do I choose the story I've been planning for two pre-seasons and feel comfortable with, or do I go with a new idea: having to create a culture, land and plot from nowhere, just a month from NaNo season?

question, writing, nanowrimo
