YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
My
site finally works in IE 5!
I really hate IE 5. It makes my life more complicated than it should ever be. Why?
Let me count the ways...But if you're too lazy to click on the links, it really boils down to the following:
It's an insecure browser, meaning that it's easier for spyware and malware to access your computer. Chances are you don't want either of these things.Incomplete support of XHTML - so there are compatibility issues. The graphics standards are not up to par. IE 5 doesn't support transparent png's, that is, the png alpha channel. What this results in is IE 5 creating a light blue border around transparent areas. In other words, it's downright ugly. It's not very CSS compliant. IE 5 fails to recognize CSS2 specs, and hey, as a designer, the notion of designing a site to fit IE 5's bullshit standards, that is, to downgrade and sacrifrice a nice aesthetic isn't exactly something I want to do.Of course there are more points, but that's just a few.
It's just too bad that IE 5 remains the most popular browser out there these days. Hopefully the population will miraculously increase their IQ, and download Firefox.
IE 7 is coming out soon, and it sounds like the problems are going to be ironed out to some extent. But the truth remains - check out

Okay. I need breakfast. What the hell is wrong with me? It's almost 5:30 pm.
