Old Montréal, part 1

A long day spent walking walking walking demands rest and relaxation. Ha! That wasn't the case with us. We did go back to the hostel for some time. That didn't prevent
Emma from being a goof:

Yes, yes. Meet Emma the Librarian. Unfortunately, she has no books. Next!

I have no further comments.

Just hanging out at the métro waiting waiting waiting to leave...
That evening, we headed off to the Montréal Planetarium and watched a show called Star Secrets. Now since my short-term memory tends to be pretty bad, there are very few facts I remember. It also doesn't help that science and I have never really gotten along that well.
1. Stars that emit a blue gas are hotter than those that emit a red one.
Wait, that's all I remember. Crap. I think I'll consult Wikipedia on this topic - it has all the answers!

Before the show started, I snapped this pic. Then the staff at the planetarium told me to put my camera away. Damn.
Once the show finished, I branched off to visit two of my cousins, Bilo and Monica in Montréal. Visiting them meant a lot to me for two reasons: I had not seen Bilo for almost two years. Secondly, in recent years, I've viewed Monica as an older sister. I'm an only child, and it can get immensely lonely - over the years, family has become precious to me. Anyway, they drove me down to Old Montréal, promising the ULTIMATE MONTRÉAL EXPERIENCE. We ate at some pub/restaurant place, drank Sangria, and I learned that I had some addiction to goat cheese since I kept on munching on Bilo's brushettas in addition to my meal. Go figure.

Mussels in beer broth - a Montréal specialty. Yum!
After dinner, we headed out to explore the dazzling city en le froid by car, by foot, by whatever means possible. When you walk around, lights adorn the buildings and you wonder if it's really Christmas. The truth is that it's beautiful city, and there's nothing more to that. The cold doesn't stop people from going out - that just goes to show how people really value the life, the spirit in this great place. The streets are crowded driving along St. Denis and Sherbrooke, it's all about la nuit.

That's all for now. Next up - Mont Royal!
