the three/devil dice

I really should not be up this late since I have to be up early in the morning to get to church. I'm tired, but currently I'm printing psych notes, and I've had one of the best nights in a long time.

Sarah and Jessica were my two best friends in high school. I met Sarah in grade nine and Jessica in the middle of grade ten, and for a good three years we were pretty inseparable - we used to jokingly refer to ourselves as "The Three". If anything made high school tolerable, it was these girls. Most people bitch about the people they encounter in those years, but it is not impossible to find some rewarding friendships. Throughout that time, there have been so many good memories, whether it would be us going to Wonderland where we would lip sync to Destiny Child's Independent Woman in front of the screen like the biggest dorks ever, or whether we would be in Europe during March Break having the time of our lives (and getting what we call a "twuro", a €2 coin stuck in the sink). These have been some of the greatest memories I've had. After high school we drifted apart, although Sarah and I kept in touch quite frequently. However, the three of us had not hung out together since my 19th birthday party, in which there were so many people that we didn't really spend all that much time together. I missed those times and those memories. Tonight was the first time the three of us had hung out collectively since that date. It was a simple night, starting off at the Crooked Cue, a pool hall, and ending up at Demetre's for desserts (delicious, if you ask me). We picked up where we had left off - a year and a half ago, but in truth, it felt like no time had passed at all. Laughing, smiling, being our goofy selves - it was the good old days again, the days I had so greatly cherished. It won't be the last time for sure.
Later on tonight, Deanne, Rob and Rob's friend Tony came down here all the way from Guelph to play a game of Risk. It was Dee's first time at playing, and it took some time to teach her how to play the game. Anyway, I died fairly quickly, since Tony annihilated me completely, in all places - Australia! (And that began with the odds in favour for me.) Dee managed to keep Europe since she and Rob had an alliance. It's funny though - for a while I was guiding her strategically since it appeared that she was going kamikaze by lack of strategy, if that makes any sense. Tony found out my evil plan to take over Asia from Australia, and that did not go well. Tony knew that he could take over Asia, but nooooooooo, not a possibility in his mind. Thus, I would have been first out. We never managed to finish the game; distraction seems to come by fairly easy. Rob would have won, slowly building up in South America, Africa, North America, and who knows - the rest of the world, we'd assume! I've said it once and I'm never wrong on this - I never win at Risk! =P Good times, nevertheless. What friend comes all the way from Guelph to Mississauga in the middle of the night to play that? That's just awesome. =)
