Tsunami

Does it shock anyone else to know that it has been an entire year since the Tsunami hit? I know a lot has happened in the past 365 days - but man, it doesn't feel like that much time has passed. Maybe it's my age - maybe I'm losing short term memory like Dorrie in Finding Nemo. There's been a gazillion hurricanes, a cruise, citizenship for Nancy, 2 school changes for Megan, new friends and acquaintences for me, a new job for me, a car accident and new car for Nancy, 2 swim team seasons, softball season, cross country season, countless dramas for Nancy and her friendships/love life - i mean, practically an entire lifetime of events in the past year, and it feels like last week that the Tsunami hit. Wierd. I haven't posted in LJ for awhile - not much to tell. I guess I could've commented on the cruise we took, but honestly it was a bit of a disappointment for me. Schedules, plans, dinner time, excursions off the ship were a BIG BUMMER - everything was so expensive. Couldn't take the kids on any special trips because they were like 100.00 per person. Larry got to go scuba diving, so at least he got to do something. But I had visions of me walking with the kids through a rain forest, or ancient Mayan ruins....didn't happen. The food was good, the weather was nice, the ship was cool - but I wouldn't do it again. Luckily Megan and Daniel and Nancy had fun. Not too sure about Tristan - I mean, there were moments that were fun/cool - but I'm really pissed about the shore excursions being so expensive. Next time I take a family vacation (if there is a next time) we will just pick an interesting place where everyone can have fun, stay in a decent hotel or hostel, and really explore.

My life is pretty much too depressing to talk about right now - no money, no car, no end in sight. So I'll sign off until I have something interesting to write about. Happy New Year, everyone.
