The first week of the year has been a busy one, and very enjoyable. We got to work on Tuesday morning and we were all like, "Can anyone remember what we do here?!" ... but we soon picked it up again. We really got going with the automated regression testing this week. We're getting close to release 7.1.3 so a new build was done every night, and every morning i ran the automation script which installs the latest build, configures a new database, starts up the software and runs through a set of tests. It takes about two hours.
I also did a training session for the other testers on how to run the automated scripts on ServicePortal, the product which i am mainly responsible for. We're getting really productive with the automated scripts now, and it gives me a lot of confidence when i can run the same scripts on an Oracle database, as well as SQL Server.
I've felt a lot more relaxed this week too. Before Christmas i had become so stressed - i really needed a break. We've had some amusing afternoon conversations in the office this week, heheh!
It has been very nice to see some friends this week.
nyecamden came to Woking to see me on Thursday, which was lovely. It was the first time of meeting up in real life, so i guess both of us were slightly nervous, but we had a very good time and a nice chat; went for lunch in Café Americano, my favourite café in Woking, which does fair-trade coffee. Last night i came home to find
goodarcher here. We had a wonderful evening chatting about all sorts of things. I didn't really feel up to making much for dinner, but managed to pull together a spanish omelette and chips, which worked out really nicely!
Today i plan to catch up on some chores, write some Christmas thank-you letters, and work on websites. I have some updates to make to
medicalaestheticclinic.co.uk and i really should do some work on the new one too, since i've been promised £250 for it, and i could certainly do with the extra money!
