Yesterday, Ping and I had dinner at a chinese restaurant.
It was quite an experience...

When we entered the restaurant, they showed us our table and quickly removed all the western stuff there. Then we got the menu. In chinese of course. The german menu is different and Ping wanted "real" chinese food. After some discussions we orderd 1/2 Peking duck and a non-spicy, non-chicken starter.
The starter was pork with vegetables and hot, hot, hot. Ping said, it wasn't too spicy, really hot would be much worse.
Then the cook brought the duck and carved it into small bits. There were round flat dough-cakes and we put the duck-meat on it, then vegetables and a sauce, probably made of soy sauce, rice wine and starch. After wrapping the thing, we would eat it and it tasted really fine. Not like the common chinese taste. Completely different, very un-spicy compared to "normal" chinese food, but really good.
Then we got the soup they had made from the rests of the duck and then I was really full.
Hmmm (-:
