Yesterday was a day of hurdle training, being lazy and barbecue (greek salad, steaks + garlic sauce and bacon-wrapped rosmary-tomatoes - hmmm!)

Today we decided not to go to the medieval market in Offenbach but to some flea markets that were much nearer (and not a 60+ minutes drive). I bought a zipper for the trousers I want to sew and a fossil trilobite for 10 Euros. It was in brilliant condition, even the facetted eyes were still preserved, so it was a very good price, I think :-)

Then Silvio asked me if I wanted to go for a walk. The weather was fine - so - of course. He showed me the "Ober Olmer Wald", a very nature-orientated forest with a lot of nice walking paths. There were small murky ponds an puddles and we saw many animals - a fat toad, tiny wrens, dragonflies, a small redbreast and one excitingly orange-coloured lizard (like I've never seen before). There were also large marsh areas clearings and meadows where all kinds of plants grew :-)
Thanks to the US... This area once was a high security military training area, ammunition storage site and missile base. It was shut down in 1993 and transformed into a recreation area afterwards.
Due to the warm and humid weather of the last weeks we found masses of mushrooms which will be eaten soon ;-) There were so many other plants which can be eaten or used in any kind of way, but we decided to stay with mushrooms and yarrows which we collected for making syrup.

Then we went to McD for a quick snack and I had a Happy Meal because it came with this lovely Hello Kitty writing set (biro, pencil + small writing pad in a cute package) - aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah - Hello Kitty ;-p (I usually _hate_ pink things, but I love pencils and oooooooh, it's so damn cute!!!)

Now, we are very tired. Silvio is still sleeping, but I think, I'll join him now :o)
