Mulligans on Poolbeg street, that's where the weekend started. David was home from Boston with stories of guns in classrooms and the difficulties of teaching biology to creationist kids...
I was driving and so eschewed the pleasures of the Mulligans pint. In fact i'm still off alcohol and have been for 3 weeks now. I sound like i'm on a program, which i'm not, i'm just doing it for a change. Going out drinking gets dull after a while.
Anyway, Friday was good fun, most of the gang that were at the wedding in Spain were there, including ER, who i hadn't seen since then. Good times, good times...
Saturday morning i got up late, and myself and Matthew went shopping for groceries at Merrion which is my favourite place to shop for groceries i think. I used to like Superquinn when i was living on the Rock road, but now it seems to have gone downhill. After shopping we were all domestic and cleaned the house.
I headed into town around 4ish to meet PO'C.
Went for pizza to Milano and I just had to have "Pollo Ad Astra", seeing as we have just named our new boat Ad Astra...
although i don't quite get the meaning of "Chicken to the Stars" lol
We then went to see the wonderful Lemon Jelly at the Ambassador theatre...
What can i say about this show...
Fantastic
The live show is incredibly rich sounding, complex, and certainly a different feel to the recordings. I hope they release a live show on CD sometime. The lighting and backdrop projection was great too.
After the gig we went to GUBU for a while and thence to the G.
The G was crowded and hot, so i kept going outside to the smoking area for fresh air. Another bonus of the smoking ban, there's always and outside patio or somesuch to escape too.
All in all it was a fun night, and I retired to Blackrock happy.
Snow Patrol
On Sunday morning i got up to go for a walk in the clouds...
With Dr.Dishy, GoFast, Emma and Conor, I set off to climb Lugnaquilla, the second highest mountain in Ireland.
It was all snowy. I'll link pics when i find my memory stick to usb adaptor!
It was cold and windy on the summit, but it was a beautiful day regardless.
On the way down we had fun sliding down some steep patches of snow, crashing into the heather at the bottom.
Near the end of the walk somewhere though I lost my Oakleys... Boo hooo!
Occupational hazard of being me, is doing daft things like that... So I'm down one pair of €300 sunnies. gah! eak! meh! C'est la vie... or to be precise... C'est Ma Vie...
