Oh my, tomorrow I'm going to have to write a whole post on how much fun our Chinese New Year party was! It was awesome, so much to the extent that this is late - my apologies in advanced! This isn't as great as I wanted it to be, but I thought I'd post it anyway.
Series Title: The Night and Day Drabbles - Valentine’s Day Countdown
Title: Dense Boys
Author:
serinamalfoyRating: PG
Pairing: H/D
Word Count: 1312
Summary: “Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavored-Kisses: A drink that will have you and your partner wanting each other even more! Just apply a drop to either person’s drink, or tongue, and every other minute during your expeditions, you’ll be experiencing another flavor you never thought you’d taste!” She looked questioningly at the others around her. “Does this mean that if you take this, while you and your boyfriend or girlfriend snog, their mouth will taste like something every other minute?”
Disclaimer: Still not mine, even after 10 drabbles.
Dedication: The series is for
crikkita, and to all the lovely people out there who enjoy my work. I greatly appreciate your support *hugs*.
A/N: This is very rushed, I'm sorry to say. I also wanted to see more of the other people in Harry's life play a part in a drabble, so Ginny, Ron and Hermione also appear in here. I hope it all makes sense in the end. PS: No angst. *grin*

Play for Me Night 5 - Dense Boys
On her tip toes, Ginny stretched to scan the crowd of students in Honeydukes. Spotting a familiar red head and busy brunette, Ginny spun back around, pushing her way back to the boy hidden in a far corner.
Harry bit his lip, staring intently at the boxes in front of him, as Ginny ran to his side. She glanced behind her, whispering frantically.
“Hurry, Harry. Hermione and Ron are looking for us.” When he didn’t respond, she sighed in exasperation.
“Please, don’t tell me you still haven’t picked out which chocolates you want yet!” Harry continued to chew his lip. “Harry, come on! Hermione and Ron will be here any second, and then they’ll suspect us!”
“Ginny,” Harry said calmly, “You know very well the chocolates I decide to buy are not for me, making it that much harder to decide what to get. Now, tell me which you would pick, the triple - ”
“Harry!” Hermione came up to them, grinning, her nose tinged pink from the cold outside, and her cheeks flushed from the welcome warmth. Ron shuffled up behind her, carry bags filled with what were undoubtedly Hermione’s new books. He looked over her shoulder to see Harry standing in front of the chocolate stand.
“You haven’t gotten Ginny’s chocolates yet, mate?” Ron raised his eyebrows in question. Hermione turned around to give him an accusatory look.
“Ronald Weasley, I cannot believe that you just said that in front of Ginny! It was supposed to be a - ” She stopped short, looking around at Ginny, who looked back at her friend in horror.
“Um, Harry…”Ginny started, only to be cut off by Hermione, who turned to the boy.
“Harry, didn’t you say that you were going to be buying chocolates for Ginny to surprise her with on Valentine’s Day?”
Harry glanced over at Hermione, evidently irritated, before turning his gaze back to the sweets. “Well,” he replied, as he chewed on his thumbnail, “If I had, you’ve obviously ruined it.”
Ron stepped forward, looking quite confused.
“Mate, if you’re buying sweets for your girlfriend, why are you doing it in front of her?”
Ginny slapped her head, muttering something about dense boys. She turned to Harry, hissing, “I told you they’d suspect us!”
Hermione put her hands on her hips, looking incredulously at Ginny and Harry. She eyed them both before looking pointedly at Harry.
“Harry, you aren’t buying chocolates for Ginny, because I know you’re not that dense. Who are they for?”
“They’re for someone.” Harry answered, picking up a box to examine its contents. He held it in front of Ginny, raising an eyebrow. She shrugged, answering his unspoken question, leaving Harry scowling at the box in his hands. He placed it back on the shelf, and then continued to browse the options. Ron looked hurt, having been left out of what was going on. However, Hermione wasn’t about to give up.
“Harry, who are they for?”
Harry stopped suddenly in front of a shelf, his back facing his group of friends. He stood rigidly, his hands gripping the air within them. He took a moment to answer, and when he did, his voice was quiet and hesitant.
“What if they were going to be for you and Ron, Hermione? Maybe I wanted to give you something for Valentine’s Day. You are, I do believe, my best friends.”
Hermione’s face turned beet red, her head dropping to look at the ground. Ginny was staring intently at Harry’s back, and Ron simply shook his feet, looking around at all the candy in an attempt to give him something to do.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been so nosy, Harry. We’ll leave now, if you’d like.”
Hermione spun around slowly, walking with her head down, only to bump into Ron, who was now captivated by something he had seen on one of the shelves.
“Whoa, look at this! I’ve never seen them sell this here!” Ron took a Technicolor bottle down from a top shelf. Ginny turned to look at what her brother had found, inching closer to get a better look. When she saw the label, she turned to Harry, calling him over. Reluctantly, Harry walked over to the small group.
“This is wicked, Harry!” Ron exclaimed, handing him the bottle. “I can’t believe that they aren’t selling this around this time of the year!”
Harry stared down at the bottle, eyes wide. Ginny read allowed, so that Hermione, who had been standing a little ways off, could hear what had been exciting them.
“Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavored-Kisses: A drink that will have you and your partner wanting each other even more!
Ron looked down at the bottle, suddenly green.
“Being Bertie Bott’s, I can only imagine what flavors it has in store.”
Harry turned over the bottle, searching the back for something. He grinned, throwing the bottle up into the air, then catching it again. His eyes danced as he looked down at Ginny, who suddenly realized what Harry had in mind.
“Oh, no, Harry. You’re not thinking of getting that, are you?”
“You’re going to use that with my sister? You must be daft, Harry! Imagine it turning her mouth into something like seaweed, or vomit!” Ron turned greener. Hermione made something that sounded oddly like a squeak.
Harry’s grin only widened. “I never said I was going to use it on your sister, Ron.”
“No, he would never think of using it on me.” Ginny said, looking disgustedly at the bottle in Harry’s hands.
“No, Potter would never do such a thing; kissing a Weasley is simply out of the question.”
The group turned, meeting the imperious gaze of Draco Malfoy, as he sauntered towards them. Ron’s grip on the bags in his hands tightened, his knuckles turning white. Hermione fumed, her hand reaching for her wand, while Ginny stood impassively, picking at the nail polish on her fingernails. Harry stood behind them all, his face carefully guarded.
“What do you want, Malfoy?” Ron said through gritted teeth. Draco passed by him, and collided with his shoulder, all the time pretending he didn’t exist. His gaze was on Harry, and he made his way towards him.
Draco took the bottle in Harry’s hand, examined it, and then looked Harry in the eye.
“What’s this, Potter? A little something for you and your girlfriend to experiment with?” He sneered, causing Hermione to step towards them, only to be stopped by Ginny. She stood in front of Hermione, her arms spread wide, preventing her from making her way any farther. Ginny shook her head at her friend, and turned back to look at the two boys.
“Actually, Malfoy, I had someone else in mind.”
Draco smirked, opening the bottle slightly to allow the liquid to drop onto one of his fingers. Licking it off his finger, Draco raised an eyebrow in Harry’s direction. Before anything else could happen, Harry had grabbed Draco, and had pushed him up against one of Honeydukes shelves, ravishing him in a way that could only have made spectators blush profusely, causing them to turn away - which was what Ron and Hermione did.
“I,” Ron attempted, his face sickly pale from shock.
“You two aren’t together, are you?” Hermione whispered to Ginny, looking like she would vomit at any moment.
Ginny threw up her hands in exasperation, scoffing at the ceiling, stalking away from her friends. She muttered darkly about dense boys, public displays of affection, and how she would never again cover for Harry.
