Unsurprisingly! I love the ambiguity. I love having it be a complete mystery and watching people (both ICly and OOCly) make assumptions on Chrona's gender. It cracks me up. Every time Oz calls Chrona "my lady" I laugh really hard |D! I wouldn't really mind if it was ever confirmed, because I really don't think it would matter. Chrona pretty much has no gender identity (in my interpretation), so picking one or the other wouldn't affect my playing other than that I would giggle a little less each time someone offers to give Chrona a makeover. (this has happened more than once)

I do get a little annoyed with how the translators just arbitrarily pick a gender and use the pronouns so its different each chapter, but then again if everybody picked the same one and every single translator said that Chrona was a girl, or guy, how would I have known that it wasn't actually confirmed yet?

hmm, another question... Gino's thoughts on camp as a whole, if nobody's asked this? Like not of specific people, but what he thinks of a place with all these magical whatnots and the physics screwups and people back from the dead and other worlds and timestream punching? How convinced is he of the reality of everything and how does he feel about it? That kind of stuff.

Camp to Gino is JUST LIKE A MOVIE! :D ... on a more serious note, it is really strange and disorienting, especially since there's people back from the dead and whatnot, but he isn't too thrown by it. Part of what helps is that Kallen is from the same general time period, so it's not like some weird dream where everyone is alive! And happy! And also, it's Gino. He takes things in stride and he's relatively good at adjusting (as long as it isn't shit like EMPEROR LELOUCH), so ... it's not that difficult for him.

He does have mixed feelings on some things, Euphemia being the big one. It is really damn hard for him to keep up a conversation with her, because he knows what happens in her future, and that puts him on edge around her. The SAZ incident wasn't cool with him, but at the same time ... it's Euphemia. She comes off as being incredibly sweet and caring, and that's the one thing that really disorients him. I COULD GO ON MORE ABOUT THIS, but suffice it to say, stuff like lol euphie!!1 are the few things that throw him. Everything else in camp, he can adjust to.

Rivalz v. Keigo. Who would win in a series of competitions, and what would they compete in?

...somehow my first thought was of this being Milly's fault, so this is me working under the assumption that someone will app her soon (this is a hint)... Obviously there would be ridiculous things like footraces in penguin costumes (Keigo wins because he's not a noodle and is generally in better shape), eating contests (Rivalz wins because it would have to be pizza and he just has the most experience), at Rivalz's request something to do with mechanics which he wins, at Keigo's request a video game competition which he wins, and then it all comes down to the swimsuit competition.

With the last-minute rule that the winner gets to go on a date with the council member of their choice.

But somehow through a strange string of coincidences involving a protesting Kallen, C.C. trying to get to the pizza that wasn't eaten in the competition, Suzaku stumbling after getting bitten by Arthur, and some conveniently placed fireworks, everything goes up in a shower of sparks and smoke, Lelouch's shirt is set on fire, he stumbles into the pool as he tries to take it off, and somehow he wins the last event, making it a 2-2 tie between Rivalz and Keigo and they both go off to the mess hall to commiserate and make fun of Lulu.

Oh, right! Question!

Which Geass characters do you think could be reasonably apped post-series without fudging things up too badly in camp?

...

Ni ... na? NO, SERIOUSLY, I'm trying to think, and it's like. You can't do Schneizel past 24 because lol serve zero lol. Kannon would be ... difficult, I think. Milly is probably doable! Anya ... ehh, m...aybe, but there's more to work with before then (except sob marianne), Orange could be done for the lulz, NINJAMAID COULD BE DONE FOR THE LULZ, THE LIST GOES ON. Which isn't to say they aren't doable, it'd just take some maneuvering. Or something.

Uhhh, question ... well, along the same line as the last question, do you find it difficult to play Keigo and Rivalz? Since we all joke that they're both the best friend type and whatnot, and I remember you saying once that you didn't app Rivalz for awhile because you had Keigo but then Kallen told you the story of her with Yoko and Kallen.

Now I'm just picturing Jeremiah spending his whole time in camp with a cocky, knowing grin on his face going, "I can't tell you anything~"

I don't actually. They're similar, but in my opinion it's just that they have the same basic philosophy on life. Stop trying so hard and just cheerfully enjoy life the best you can with your friends. Other than that and a few other things that go along with it, the two have some pretty distinct characteristics as I interpret them.

I did kind of lose my drive to play Rivalz for a good while, but that wasn't really related to playing Keigo as much as losing interest with the canon. I almost dropped him, but I decided to hold on until the series finished to see if I'd get the drive back, and it worked! Thanks to the finale I'm totally pumped to play him again (and actually tempted to app from Geass again, sob). I just wish I knew how to make icons that didn't look like crap and had the money to get him some paid time as soon as I manage the icon thing, orz.

So Gino gets a geass. What does it do? Alternatively if you prefer, Gino in Soul Eater canon. Meister or Weapon? Specialty? Weapon form? Etc.

Actually, I just ... can't see Gino getting a geass, but that's probably because I really like his role in the series as being someone relatively NORMAL (i.e. no geass, no supernatural help, no LOL I'M A SUPERHUMAN) and being what he is because of what he's done himself.

But as for Soul Eater canon, he'd be a meister! Probably with a scythe or some sort of polearm, and he'd be the sort of meister that performs well and all, but you wouldn't ... really get that. You'd think he'd be another Black*Star with the FAILING TO GET A SINGLE SOUL FOR AWHILE, and he ends up being more on the Maka or Kid end of the spectrum. o/

QUESTION. Uh. Any hilarious app stories?

I don't think any of mine have been all that hilarious. So I'll tell them all and let you decide! For Keigo, I was pointed to the comm by an (now ex)player, really liked it and spent a while trying to pick who to app before deciding on Keigo. Nothing special. He was just my favorite character from Bleach and that was the canon I was really into at the time.

Fred's was me reading the first Young Wizards book right before apps and mentioning to KOS-MOS that I was kinda tempted to app him but wasn't really comfortable with it that soon. This was in confidence, so of course she told the entire YW cast and they all topped me, but I couldn't finish the app in time. By the next round I had finished the rest of the books and was torn between Fred and Sker'ret (the metal centipede with a black hole stomach) but eventually picked Fred. As a note, if I had tried apping him as a counselor, his job would have been "Head Light" and he would have sat on top of the Christmas tree.

Boyue was just me thinking he was adorable and topping myself into it.

Haruna was me once again fighting to choose between 2 or 3 characters in a series I had recently read before going with the one that was easiest to write the app for.

Rivalz I was tempted by for the longest time but refused to app him until I got topped mercilessly. I had big plans to have Haruna do antics that day since it was Naked Day, but I ended up spending the whole day staring at a blank app instead before rushing and writing the whole thing in like 2 hours.

Shuuhei... I don't even remember. I think I reread a certain part of canon for some unrelated reason and was like "lol I love Shuuhei... dammit." And was simultaneously writing another app for a different canon right up until the day of apps, but Shuuhei's app was much better than the other one, so I sent it.

And finally I spent months fighting the urge to app Soul Eater before finally giving in and writing an app for Eruka. Then I lost it when my computer crashed. And I decided I'd rather app Chrona than rewrite it :D!

So what characters have you begrudgingly resigned yourself to never apping?

serialdrapist September 30 2008, 02:12:24 UTC
I THINK THOSE ARE ALL ENTERTAINING.

Uhhh, well, I probably shouldn't answer this since I do end up apping those characters anyway (lol Gino lol Heisuke), but a big one I can think of is L. I love him to death, but I wouldn't have the energy he would take. Kakashi from Naruto is another, and it's for the same reason. They're both characters I would love to play, but I'd really have to give them the attention they deserved to feel satisfied with my play. And with the characters I have ... yeah, I can't do that.

What's one canon in camp you are intrigued by but haven't gotten the chance to check out yet?

I had trouble thinking up something for this, because... basically if it interests me and I know how to find it for free, I have very likely at least started it. I don't have money at the moment though, and I don't like reading books if I don't own them (except in extreme circumstances), so I'm still looking forward to the Dresden Files somewhere in the distant future. For a non-book example, I will eventually play FFXII, really. Really really. I will.

Pick any one (or more if you're feeling ambitious) of my characters and tell me who you ship them with, or if you don't ship them, who you would ship them with in hilarious "what if"s. Canon or camp situation is fine, and feel free to explain why this makes sense in your head if you feel like justifying. Man, I almost feel like making a serious poll out of this one.

CHRONA X MR. CORNER

... okay no. B-but man, Keigo -> Asta cracked me up for awhile there. I really liked reading that interaction. IT WAS FUNNY I-I simultaneously felt so bad for Asta and for Keigo.

Question, question ... WELL. ON THAT NOTE. Is there a serious poll in the past that you've really liked and if so, why?

Broke his widdle heart :'(

I... honestly forget to check CFO pretty much constantly, so I rarely catch the serious polls, orz. Honestly I'm kind of a whore for my characters though, and I like any excuse to see people's opinions on them or people shipping them without me looking strange for asking |D

I keep forgetting to ask anything. um, what's something you did with one of your characters that turned out to be ridiculously more popular/awesome than you expected?

PIMPURABA. Hands down. Back in 2006, Biz made geisha icons for all of the Eyeshield 21 cast at the time ... except for Sakuraba. So the ES21 cast joked that clearly, Sakuraba was their pimp! And then I photoshopped a horrible hat et all on him and we all laughed, and then someone enabled me to post with it later. ... so I did, and it ended up getting 2000+ comments. People asked for another one in December, so I did it again and ... that one topped 4k or so? Ever since then, we've needed continuations. IT CRACKS ME UP because I kept expecting for people to get all pissed at me because pimp jokes just AREN'T THAT FUNNY and I run low on steam after awhile, but they're always awesome. I actually have another one planned at some point, whenever I actually photoshop the stuff I need to shoop.

Do you have any predictions for Soul Eater?

Other than that it's going to be awesome whatever it is? I dunno! My biggest hope is that we'll find out that Excalibur was used by one of Shinigami-sama's posse back in the day, and somehow he'll become important to the plot. Because. God, it would be hilarious having them have to put up with him long enough to save the world. Also Eruka should get more screentime (favorite characterrrrrr)

The one counselor you want to see apped more than anybody else and what you'd be willing to do to see this happen?
