A short rant/rambling piece....
Besides having to read the Odyssey for my only first summer session class, I decided I would read Jurassic Park for fun. So, that is why the quote of the post. It reminds me in a way of Silence of the lamb, basically a pulp book with story, and not much else. And I don't even remember why I decided to read the book anyway, because when I remember watching the movie...or rather starting to watch the movie, it didn't hold my interest for very long. And reading the book, and also watching something on the test screening for Final Destination, I started to think about something. In the special for FD they said, "Steven Spielberg doesn't have to test screen his movies." And i was thinking, why the hell not, sure he has some okay movies, and some that might be called really great, top of the line movies, but he has made some very kitsch movies as well. And looking at his work on IMDB.com he is producing Jurassic Park 4....and I am thinking why in the hell are they making a 4th one...(Not like I can say anything because I am a fan of Tremors 4, which they probably shouldn't have made a fourth one of that either.) but I don't understand the fascinating with people who think he is some kind of film genius. Part of it may be, after reading the book jaws, and then watching Jaws, I was sort of disappointed with some of the things that peter benchley cut from the script, and changed. I know some of it was because it had a political message, and they were made to trim it down a bit. And I guess for the 70s that is a really good movie, but I was a bit disappointed with it. A lot of the dialouge seemed really stilled. But it is in my list of good cheesy horror movies, since it isn't the worst movie in the world. I keep getting off track...When most people talk about the genius of Spielberg they site Jaws, and the Indiana Jones movies, Schindler's list, and close encounters of the third kind, and all that other stuff... and while I have seen most of those movies, I don't see why he has this god like status in movie making. I mean if you are saying he has god-like status because he works in various jobs, writer, producer, etc, and he has been around for years, that is a different story all together. But just to say it on some of the movies he has directed, it seems you are discounting a lot of good filmmakers, who make movies just as well as he does....

Anyway, on to a new subject. Check out my cool new icon, which didn't win the dcontest...suprise...suprise...I am not upset though, because this icon came out cool.
I entered another one but it wasn't as cool as this one... I figured anyway, I am not going to just give the dcontest up. I mean I try my hardest, and if I don't win fine...doesn't mean I am going to stop entering it, or any of the other contests I participate in.
I am actually going to try to update and revamp my icon site, so that anyone can see all the icons I made, but they don't have to scroll down one long page... but I guess if they wanted to they can always check out my photobucket account, since that has all the ones that aren't on my site... I think I put the username, and password up in case anyone wanted to see it..::Shrugs:: It is sad though there are more pictures/icons that I have snagged, then icons. Though I did start to make some bases, and snagged some bases for later use...
Oh, I changed two of my icons. I replaced one done by m_ravensblood with another done by her, and replaced one by crystalkirk with another done by her. I may change them again next week. I don't know...Once, I get money, I may just buy more icon space, it depends on how much I owe to whom...
I am at work again.....::Pounds head on desk for a few minutes:: It is really sad. I hate this desk...I am totally burnt out from working here...Oh, well at least next saturday I get my first day off, though I am on duty. But it does mean I can hide in my room all day if i want to, and maybe get some things done, I have been putting off.
Yes, I realize I talk about icon making and random stuff like that a lot. But really other than my fanfics, that is the only interesting stuff. The rest is just kind of boring...and I don't want to think about...because most of it is work....oh, the joy of working a front desk....I may join netflicks or blockbuster.com at the end of june when I get paid, at least then I will have movies to talk about...
And hopefully soon I will have a cheesy horror movie night as a hall program but we will see how that goes.
Off to go make a skewed icon for the profiler_fans contest, and to update my icon site...and maybe write another part to my cult leader fic, which I will def. send to a beta before I run willy-nilly to post on profiler_fans.

2) If you could turn one book, comic book or other print story into a feature-length movie, what story would you pick and why? I would turn my gay mafia into a movie, but I have to finish it first.
3) Whom would you cast? Peter Frechette- Dameon, Vincent D'onofrio-Andy, Brent Roam- Casey, Traci Lords- Angele, Kerr Smith- Marcus, Alan cumming- Mr. D. and there are a few more characters I am debating on casting.
4) What one movie would you like to see "updated for the year 2005"? (Ie, a remake)
None of them, I don't like when they update movies, unless they do a good job which rarely happens.
5) What one movie are you most looking forward to this year?
"Batman Beyond," and some other ones...which I can't think of off the top of my head.
