Update

It's been a while since I last posted in my journal, so I figured now was a good time for a quick update.

I have made it my goal to find a new job before management move's the Pleasanton office into a smaller space. The move to me is very symbolic regarding the future of this department. Going somewhere smaller makes me feel like I'm being put further back into a closet and being forgotten about. I suppose I should be thankful that our boss mentioned this move to us; otherwise I wouldn't have much motivation to find something else.

The toughest part is trying to figure out what I want to do. In order to find a job related to my degree I would have to continue my education. Right now I just don't see that happening since Master's programs are tougher than undergrad programs and more expensive.

There are two temp agencies in the building I work at, and I have been really tempted to drop off my resume with them. It would be a pain in the ass to start off as a temp somewhere else, but I would be willing to do if it meant more pay and career options in the long run.

My personal life has been pretty active as of late. I find myself going out a lot more than I used to. One place in particular that I have been going to often is Suite 181 in San Francisco. The place itself isn’t too bad, and they have two floors each one with its own separate dance floor. The crazy thing about San Francisco clubs is that they don’t close until 3 am. It’s expensive to drive there, park, and pay entrance fees, but if you like to party it up until the wee hours then it’s the place for you. Unfortunately because of this I am finding it harder to save money. I probably spend about $150 more a month due to a more active social life, which is me still being thrifty. It would be a lot more if I let myself go.

I'm looking forward to Nicole's birthday bash. It's been a while since I last hung out with those wacky girls. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a text message from Megan last Saturday night. It made me feel special that she remembered me amidst all that fun and chaos. She also saved me from complete utter boredom that night. I ended up going to Mt. Charlie’s in Los Gatos. It brought back memories when I was there for Megan’s birthday celebration (and Forrest dropping his food). I forgot how packed that place can get. The DJ wasn’t very good that night either, playing mostly techno music. Seriously who still plays techno music in clubs/bars?

I’m still waiting for Hilary to post a report from her Vegas trip. I hope she doesn’t forget most of it when she decides to post it onto live journal.
