Made this on Saturday. It was originally a pair of Mudd jeans that are now too big for my daughter and which I never have any hope of ever being small enough for. They'd been sitting around in a bag of clothes she was taking to college for a clothing swap but which has been in my front hallway for three months. On Saturday I just picked them up and informed her 'I've been eyeing these. They're going to be my new purse.' She was fine with it. I'd hoped to use a Thanksgiving fabric but I guess since I like the Harvest season so much I had used all of whatever I'd had in my stash. I refuse to buy fabric right now - the room is just packed with it. So this gingerbread cookie themed fabric looked good to me - it will be seasonally appropriate for a longer period of time. :)
I think I probably should have taken the photos before I put everything in it so you could see that it is nice and symmetrical, but this is the way it looks when I carry it all stuffed so you're seeing it from a realistic point of view. ;) I made a purse organizer a couple of weeks ago which didn't fit in the jeans backpack you can see in a prior entry but fits nicely in here. I'll photograph the organizer and post it in another entry.
Speaking of backpacks, they are normally my purse of choice - I like having my hands free, don't like being banged in the side with a bag and most especially don't like something digging in to my shoulder. I was a little worried I wouldn't like this bag while I was working on it but figured if I didn't that someone else would and I'd give it away. The straps on this are SO comfortable I love carrying it. No chance I'm letting it go.
