Kiwi seems find but talk about NO maternal instinct! She didn’t stay with it, or have it in her cage in one of her blankeys or anything. I found it on the floor this morning. Looks like she had it last night sitting on the perch by my chair. I heard her making noises I thought were pain, but I kept asking her what was wrong and looking over at her. Didn’t realize she was laying an egg! I had actually felt her tummy like 2 days earlier because I thought she might be carrying one, but the shell was so soft I couldn’t feel it. I did call my vet and they said no worries as long as she doesn’t keep doing it or, of course, if she becomes egg bound.
