Yesterday I changed the littler box and I'm pretty sure this is the first time ever my cat has been in the bathroom with me when I've done this. She'll be seven this summer so you would think we might have done this already, but somehow this worked out to be the first time she's witnessed my cat box changing process.
My process is pretty much the same every time. Pull the litter box out of the corner, dump the waste basket in the litter box, pull the liner out of the litter box, put in a fresh liner, and fill with fresh litter.
I swear, I've never seen so much sadness or worry on a cat's face as when I dumped the waste basket in the litter box yesterday. And then she stuck to me for the rest of the day. Who knew cleaning a cats litter box could cause such torment?
I think from now on I'll make sure I change the litter in private, without kitty witnesses.
