Unless it's more misdirection with juxtapositions, now it looks like our!Fai really is Fai. They both had bloody fingers, and it could have been snowing for both twins when FWR came. In fact, maybe FWR appeared before both twins!
In any case, the wish to be granted as it was proposed to Fai was to go to other worlds. Ashura only took the twin outside the tower (Yuui for now) into his country, but not to another world. What if the falling 'death' was a feignt? What if Fai only got an extension on his life but he will have to give up his life eventually to fulfill the terms of the deal? There's definitely something more to this transaction between the twins, FWR and Ashura-ou, since there is (at least) one more curse in place.
Wah! Yuui, the stronger-willed of the two, went all crazy and gave up. So tragic!
Anything is still possible. But THANK YOU CLAMP for finishing that speech bubble. 'Get Yuui out of here.' Fai, that was the most heart-wrenching, brave words we've heard you utter.
EDIT 3.4.08 So we know now that our!Fai = Yuui, and it was Yuui who said 'Get Yuui out,' referring to himself in the third person that apparently many young, Japanese-speaking children do. Ugh! Confusion!
