SPN 5.08: I need a bigger mouth

SUPERNATURAL! Tonight's episode might have just made my top 5 favorite episodes...if I actually took the time to think of a top 5 (In My Time of Dying is definitely on the list).

Oh, by the way, I know I've been away from LJ, but since my last post, I fell fast, deep, and hard for Supernatural. And...erm...that sounded slightly inappropriate.

Spoilery and random thoughts below:

Episode love, love, love!  I was so worried that this was just going to be another throwaway episode after the last few and was very, very pleasently surprised.

The boys must have had such a good time filming this one. I was slightly uncomfortable, though, with Jensen's take on Dean's reaction to Dr. Sexy though...I'll just chalk it up to being star-struck or having a man crush, which I think is perfectly alright for a manly man to have :)

And in between all the lolz is a pretty hefty bit of insight about our buddy the trickster, who just dropped a Potter-esque prophecy of sorts on our boys (though it seems only Dean understood the implications and felt the weight of it). Oh, and Sam: "now is not the time for a morale stance"? Too soon to be saying that to Dean...not comforting at all for the guy still trying to recover from your betrayal...that you seem not to understand. Dean and Trickster was explosive today...I am so hoping to see Trickster/Gabriel again, after that confrontation.

I wonder if Sam remembered at all that he promised not going after the Trickster anymore. Either he's still the kind of guy that will say what he needs to to get what he wants (remember ghost!boy from Death Takes a Holiday?) or he really wants to keep the fact that he went nutso-dark after Dean's Wednesday death a secret. Ah, still with the secrets, Sammy?

Still not buying that Sam and Dean were destined from always. Makes more sense if they just became really good candidates as events unfolded...wrong place wrong time kinda deal. Maybe Angels just like using that kind of language to mind-warp the boys into thinking they have no choice.

This was a real nice piece of writing after the past few episodes...I hope they keep it up till the end.
