Notes: The ideas explored here germinated after I read chapter 136 (the first chapter of the Infinity arc). The details were fleshed out as new chapters were published to adhere to canon as much as possible (I couldn't write fast enough to keep up with the series!), but the integrity of the concepts and scenes more or less maintain its original

Sorry if this is 5 months late, but I wanted to say thanks for being the first to comment EVER on my lj. it's really nice. I like you writing stile, and you're insights on Fai's soul were very interesting too. it's a very interesting point of view, though i much better prefer the clamp version when Kurogane feeds Fai (rather force-feed). I definitely see a sequel possibility here... if you do continue with this story i'd love to read it!

Oh! Thanks for commenting (twice)! I actually intended this piece to lead right into the CLAMP version - with the interpretation that chapter 137 is the first time Fai actually feeds directly. In canon, Kurogane doesn't ask, but just cuts himself, and essentially leaves it up to Fai (a.k.a guilts Fai into it).

You came pretty close to it though, especially in predicting Fai's relationship with Sakura.

I don't plan to continue this, since it was designed to lead right into chapter 136 (so I guess you could read from 136 onward and pretend I came up with it! j/k). But if you've got ideas for how I could continue this (and make it still canon?) or others, I'm all ears.
