The ground exploded, raining rocks and soil back onto the training ground of Orochimaru’s lair. A shadow of a ninja stood in the earth jutsu’s finishing position behind the dust cloud, which settled to reveal an older, taller, harder Uchiha Sasuke.
The large wooden doors to the complex swung open. Sasuke’s red eyes darted towards the door and saw Orochimaru step through the threshold, his toady footman Kabuto in his wake carrying a large bundle over his shoulders.
“You’re late.”
“Forgetting your manners as usual Sasuke,” Kabuto said disapprovingly, adjusting his glasses.
“You said you’d teach me a new jutsu this afternoon Orochimaru.”
“That I did. But I unexpectedly picked up a little something from Konoha instead. I thought I’d bring it back and let you play with it, for sentimentality’s sake.”
Sasuke looked at Orochimaru indifferently. “Sentiment is a useless emotion I refuse to indulge in, and I have no interest in whatever trash you brought back.”
“Watch your tongue brat!” Kabuto shouted. His patience for this youngster’s blatant disregard for his superiors was wearing thinner every day. Orochimaru’s leniency on his future vessel was also growing increasingly irksome.
“It’s ok Kabuto,” Orochimaru responded predictably, his unctuous voice soothing nevertheless. The snake turned to address his apprentice. “It’s too bad, I thought you might’ve liked it. And Kabuto carried it all this way too. Well, I guess I’ll just have to play with it myself then,” he said silkily with his ever present smile.
“Hn. If you’re not going to have time for me today, I’ll be leaving.” With that, Sasuke disappeared.
Orochimaru crossed his arms. “I guess there’s more than one monster here now, ne Kabuto?”
“Aa.” The medic-nin turned to follow his master towards the dungeons. An unconscious boy, bound and gagged, hung over his shoulders. His shock of golden hair bounced to the rhythm of Kabuto’s footsteps.

The second was my only attempt at a cross-over...I don't think Sai had been introduced as a character yet.

"Naruto, watch out!" Sakura screamed.
"Not yet!" the snake summoner yelled with a sadistic grin as he hurtled a huge serpent at Naruto's back. Naruto turned. Time seemed to drag. He threw his arms up over his face.
CLANG!
Naruto stood with his head turned down, a dark shadow veiling his eyes. The monstrous serpent hung off the right forearm that Naruto held aloft. Venom dripped from his sleeve.
Opponents and allies alike held their breath and everything was still.
With a swift movement that startled the silence, the blond tore the beast in half with a sickening rip. Reptilian blood showered down and he flung the head that was still imbedded in his sleeve away with a snap. Sakura could hear the cloth tear where the fangs were caught. Orochimaru smirked.
"He was one of my experiments. The poison is quicker than even you can handle." Orochimaru's reptilian eyes twinkled at his vague reference to the Kyuubi. "Not even that bitch Tsunade can cure it."
Sakura trembled at the words. Can't be healed? Her hands rested on her lips as she fought off tears watching the last of her teammates catch his breath.
Then, Naruto lifted his head and returned a knowing smirk of his own. But the mood was heavy. His eyes were cold.
"That didn't even break flesh, bastard."
Orochimaru's victorious smile disappeared into a troubled frown as he watched the troublesome genin slam his hands together.
Naruto glanced at Sasuke bitterly. He's not the only brother I've lost these past years. An energy Sasuke's sharingan couldn't identify flowed through Naruto and into the ground where his gloved hands connected. Sharp rock formations rose to impale the Sannin. He dodged, but not quickly enough. Dark blood trickled down where the rough stones nicked his sallow skin.
Earth jutsu without hand signs? both master and pupil thought incredulously.
Naruto's left hand gripped his right arm, but not because of pain. That arm could no longer feel pain.
It was made of metal.

I know these aren't real fics, but I'd love comments regardless.
