Long ass post.

~The boyscout is in England on business this week.  He's never been there before as evidenced by the text message I received at work today saying, "I'm on the tuuuube!"   He also called me from the "Sherlock Holmes Pub."  LOL... Gotta love those Yank tourists.

~Instead of fucking around on LJ, I should be doing my online traffic school obligation which I was sentenced to as a result of a speeding ticket.  It sounds easy, but it's not... it's a huge pain in the ass and time-consuming.  I know this because I've done it before.  Some people never learn. *cough*

~I'm still hoping that Tom is cast as Supes in this new JL movie although everything out there is saying he won't be.   I'll be beyond disappointed (and slightly nauseated) if they cast this guy again.

~It's S(mallville) minus 2!!!  Not that I'm counting or anything. *g*

Taking a cue from
bop_radar, here are some of my wishes for S7.  If my f-list number drops a few after this, I'll understand.  :)

I tried to make these non-spoilery, but I realized that it's impossible to have certain discussions without the very  existence of certain discussions being spoilers themselves.  GAH.

Please Be Warned - no specific spoilers are discussed, but there are several characters discussed in general terms, and that alone may be considered spoilery by some... so proceed at your own risk. Or you can just skip this cut and proceed to the ones below.

1. MORE CLARK.  I'm not one who hated the Lexana storyline of S6 (well, not all of it), or the presence of Ollie.  Rather, I thought both did in fact have direct and positive effects on the journey of our hero.  However, the balance of Clark vs. secondary storylines was a bit skewed, and not in his favor.  So that needs to be corrected this season.  Lots of Clark being all hero-y, and supporting cast and storylines all serving his overall story, while still being respectable themselves.

2. Lana, my poor beloved and misunderstood girl.  She really needs to continue on the same path that she settled into during the latter half of S6.  Lana is an older, wiser woman now (hopefully).  She's been married, pregnant (emotionally), suffered a huge loss, and had several life-changing revelations.  She sacrificed a life with Clark in order to protect his life, and she's also shown a dark side borne from great anger and a need for revenge.  As much as I enjoy seeing her be proactive, I don't want that dark side to rule her.  That's not Lana Lang, she's not a villain.  She's a justifiably pissed off woman, and that doesn't necessarily mean she now has to be a villain.  She can be proactive and support Clark without becoming an embittered, angry bitch.

She knows all Clark's secrets, the secrets that have driven her life for the past 6 years.  Now that this defining aspect of her character is gone, I assume,  that they will attempt to pursue an open relationship FINALLY.  I should be thrilled, right?  Well I am,  but not without an equal dose of sadness.  It sucks to 'ship a couple that you already know is doomed to fail.  This beginning, their beginning, is like turning over the hourglass.  My greatest hope for them is that they, and we, are given a respectful ride so overdue after the years of angst and frustration.   My fear is that this will be a cliche' filled ride with lots of moments of "I toldjaso's" from those that are rubbing their hands in glee, waiting for it all to crumble.

It doesn't have to crumble per se, people can love each other deeply, and yet come a mutual understanding that things are not meant to be in the long run.  They try, they support each other, they want the best for each other, but needs and goals are just too divergent sometimes and that's accepted and people move on.   Love doesn't have to die for life to move on.  It's bittersweet, which is the very definition of Clark and Lana's tale.

I've never bought into the idea that loving Lana so much now somehow minimizes love for Lois later in life.  Clark has a great capacity for love, he's learning about the complexities of love now, and those lessons will be a part of what makes him able to love so deeply later in life.

I want them to give me more than one or two episodes of Clark and Lana being happy and maybe, just maybe, actually SMILING once in a while (and having long, steamy, fun, sex-filled nights).  All the while,  both learning and leaning towards destinies beyond each other.  I want to see that iconic and tearful scene of Clark taking Lana flying in the final episode and them saying goodbye to each other.  I can live with that.

3.   Lois, my new SV girl friend.  I expect this is where I'll piss off any of my Chloe loving friends, but I honestly find that their worst fear is now a reality of the show - Chloe is no longer necessary on this show.  Lois is exciting to watch as she stumbles her way into her own iconic destiny of journalistic superstar.   More on Chloe below, but I'm ready to see Lois working along with Jimmy  to get the weekly BIG stories (that will inevitably result in her needing to be saved by Clark... probably from drowning. *g*).  Her interaction with Clark is a joy to watch, knowing full well the future that they will have together despite how they grate on each other now.  But under that grating mutual chop-busting, you already feel that mutual respect and know that they will do anything for each other.  Sorry Lois fans, but I do not want to see them get to any Lois/Clark romance in this show.  Hints and winks are great, and perhaps even more fun than actually taking them *there*.    Save the bangy-bangy between them for the Metropolis spin-off.  (No, I haven't heard of one, but omg, wouldn't that be awesome?)

4.  Lex you even more magnificent bastard you!  I can't buy into the excuses I hear people make for Lex's actions.  It's not Clark's fault, it's not Lana's fault... Lionel does get partial blame, but Lex has clearly chosen to be a Bad Man, as much as he's convinced himself that he's doing everything for the greater good.  So I want to continue to see him heading down Badboy Road, in the extreme even, as we saw in Prototype.  I do hope they manage to find a reason for Clark and Lex to have more scenes together though.  The two of them interacting in any scene is pure gold.  Clark is the guy who always gives people another chance, and Lex is a guy who will take full advantage of that.  The tension between them (sexual, as we all know) will continue to be there, but I like the idea of leaving a little wiggle room for doubt about what Lex is really up to.  Clark is an open book when it comes to motivations.. but Lex is a horror disguised as a mystery.  They are like opposite poles of a magnet in this regard and I hope they keep it up.

5.  Chloe.  Despite what I said above, I don't *wish* for Chloe to be killed off.  I simply wouldn't be devastated if she was.  Story-wise, the elements most important to me will still be there if she's gone.  This being possibly the last season, I can see her dying by sacrificing herself to save Clark.  That would be a fitting death for her character.  The other option, which I think is kind of cool too, is if she leaves to be the permanent Watchtower for Ollie and Co.   People always complained about how they try and fit Lana's character into this show, but in my twisted brain, I find it hard to fit Chloe in at this point.  Lana was *always* his love interest, Lois is the journalist extraordinaire, he even has a male buddieboy now in Jimmy.  Chloe is...???  Her new mutant status will bring HUGE changes about for her character, and I wouldn't be surprised if they lead to her demise.  Although, being the property of the Goughlar, she does have financial potential, I suppose, so they may want to keep her alive.

6. Kara - Be used to help fill us in on Clark's past.   Make your mark for your potential spin-off show, then leave to do.... something, somewhere else.

7. Jimmy.  I like Jimmy, and I hope he sticks around.   I really like the idea of  Jimmy and Lois doing investigative stories together.

8. No shirts for Clark this season.  No explanation necessary, just have all his scenes shirtless.  I love that.

Chuck -  I had no idea what this show was about, I just happened to turn it on and decided to watch.  I did LOL several times, so big points for humor, but it dipped slightly into silly territory too in several scenes.  The guy who stars in it was fabulous, he reminds me of someone, but I can't think of who!  I'd definitely give this another watch though - mostly on the strength of the lead actor.  And Jayne from Firefly is one of the spy guys!  He rocks.

Heroes - I decided to give it a shot, but I'm very meh on it still.  I like several of the characters, but it just isn't grabbing me.  I did LMAO at the blatant plug for Nissan written into the script.   I hated that stuff on SV, and it somehow made me feel better to see a big popular show like Heroes reduced to the same whoring.

Journeyman - which I only watched because I was too lazy to cross the room to change the channel.  Here, the lead actor kills it for me.  He sounds like he's suppressing some kind of accent, and he just holds no appeal at all to me.  The story started getting convoluted enough that I stopped watching.  Just not my cuppa tea, I guess.

~I AM going to get a decent  LJ layout set up this week.. I really AM!  And when I do, I'll have every single post properly tagged and a link to all my art and credits.

Until then, the chaotic posting of my artwork continues.
