Ok I admit, I'm terrible at updating my journal and terrible at keeping up with my friends list. So sorry everyone!
Here's some of the things I've been geting up to lately:
I've taken up a sign language course because I always wanted to learn and finally got round to doing something about it. I'm enjoying it so much! In fact the only problem is the classes are only once a week - I want to do it more often!! I have my assessment tomorrow evening so wish me luck!
I've also been working a lot more recently. I worked two days last week and four days the week before all in the same year 1 class (I did some other days elsewhere as well) and this year 1 class are the nicest class I have ever taught. I absolutely loved them and I so wish they could be my class for the year. All the children were just so lovely and there weren't any of the usual naughty or difficult kids that you sometimes get in classes, they were all adorable. I'm going to miss them now I'm not going back, although hopefully next time the teacher is out they'll ask for me to go back.
My best friend moved to Belfast :( She's an air hostess and they agreed to make her contract permenant if she went to Belfast for four months over winter. It's so weird knowing she isn't just down the road so I can pop and see her whenever we're both of work. It's a great opportunity for her though and also she's home today for 2 week leave so it's not like I'm not getting to see her at all. (She only went two weeks ago!) I'm hoping to visit her sometime before Christmas as well. Apparently the Christmas shopping in Belfast is fantastic and I can get cheap flights over with her airline.
What else? Oh yeah, online role playing! I used to do it years ago becasue I love writing and it's a great way to write without actually having to come up with any plot ideas yourself (I'm bad at plot ideas). I decided it was time to take it up again because I used to love it and can't even remember why I stopped. It sounds so geeky, especially since I do magic and mystery role playing (which is basically fantasy settings like Lord of The Rings type places) but really it's not. Honestly! XD I'm enjoying it so much already and it's reminding me why I fell in love with writing in the first place.
Oh yes did I mention. I only write because many many years ago I was looking round MSN's groups and saw their 'spotlighted' group was one called The Lord's Tavern. The description sounded interesting so I went and took a look and discovered role playing for the first time. I got into it and developed my writing skill (which used to be atrocious, let me be the first to admit it) and from there found fanfiction.net and from there went on to write more and more. The rest, as they say, is history.
So there you go, I owe any writing talent I now possess to the creator of 'The Lord's Tavern MSN group and whichever employee of MSN decided to make it a 'spotlighted' group.
Why do my posts always end up being longer than I intended? And why do I always end up revealing some random piece of information about myself? I'm off now, before I bore you all further with my ramblings.
