Go to work, come home, eat tea, work, sleep, get up, go to work, come home, eat, work, sleep, get up... etc.
That seems to be an accurate representation of what this placements going to be like. It makes such a difference to the workload not being on a paired placement and having to do all the literacy and maths lessons yourself. I'm so tired, I've just spent time I probably didn't really have on the internet. I want to go to sleep but I've got a huge pile of work. I hate being tired. I can't function if I don't get enough sleep.
I am enjoying it though. The class all seem nice so far, even if they do talk and fuss far too much everytime you pause for breath! There's another student in the year 3 class as well who is lovely and it's someone to talk to who knows what it's like because when you're on placement it's hard to talk to the other staff because they all already know each other and you're a bit of an outsider. She's only there for the next two weeks though because she's nearly finished her placement so I'm going to be lonely when she's gone!
The class teacher is really nice though and so is the teaching assistant, although she is inclined to take over a bit. I'm paranoid that she thinks I'm incompetent as well because I keep asking her things and she sometimes answers with a tone that suggests I should already know. The headteacher is really nice as well, he found me some information on teacher pay scales after I said I didn't know anything about them which was a really nice gesture because I'm sure he's got better things to do! There's also a really nice teacher in year 6 (a man) who is really clever, (he used to be a secondary school chemistry and biology teacher and he went to Cambridge!) I think he'll be a good laugh, although he does moan about things a lot! Hopefully things will continue to go ok. I'm being observed tomorrow though so that could change my mind totally!
Ok now I need to go work again. I'm going crazy!
