Part 2 of The Return
This will probably be of no interest to those who don't watch The Vampire Diaries, but for those of you who do. Hope you enjoy :)
Paul Westley - aka Stefan Salvatore
Paul is adorable in person and really loved how smiley he was and how much he laughed. We don't get to see Stefan being that happy much so was great to see. Trying to remember things he said in the talk, but seem to be having a memory failure on that so only remember a thing or two like:
* Paul is a firm romantic and believer in monogamy. That said he hopes to see a bit of a break for Stefan from Elena (which will probably come while he is off with Klaus) but ultimately he wants Stefan to end up with the woman he loves, Elena.
* He blamed Damon for kissing Elena at the end...Saying what a rat bag doing that after Stefan just sacrificed himself and being with Elena to save Damon's life. I was quick to point out to him that it was actually Elena who initiated the kiss. lol
* He was asked if he would ever want to do a musical episode of TVD. He laughed and said jokingly that episode 8 of season 3 would be a musical. He then went on to say he didn't get musicals at all and how when it's all serious one minute and then suddenly the characters are singing and dancing. He was like...WTF is going on? Said he didn't like how it threw things out. So no, no musical ep for TVD. Thank goodness!
* He told us about how he went out initially for the role of Damon, but said he cast as too old for the role. Then he learned that they'd cast the older actor, Ian Somerhalder in the role. LOL But he was called back and asked to test for Stefan and got the role. Happy how it worked out.
Lauren Cohen - aka Rose
Lauren is such a sweetheart. Really nice person. I was lucky enough to meet her at her first convention for Supernatural and was happy to meet her again. She said it was like a reunion for her getting to meet her fans again. Bless her. During her talk she mentioned:
* She loved how she got to go out in the series. Felt it was a good death scene. Better than the one she had in Supernatural and she said that Ian was very sweet about it and was great to work with.
* She also mentioned that the Rose we got to see was not initially how the character was supposed to be. That at first they wrote her as college student, much lighter and less dramatic than the Rose we got to see.
David Anders - aka John Gilbert
David was the one I was the most curious about what he was like in real life. And I was not disappointed. What a scream. He is so funny! And I was shocked to found out that he has only recently turned 30! Gah, 7 years younger than me. It was funny because he age was a big topic of conversation during the talks:
* One girl said how surprised she was that he looked so much younger and better in person (David pretended shock and dismay at that ). And how he's always playing characters older than what he is in real life. David admitted that it was always a surprise when he goes into auditions, because they casting directors always expect someone older and then he turns up looking so young.
* He said at the beginning he had no idea that John Gilbert would turn out to be Elena's father. He said him and Nina actually were like 'What?' when they read the script and laughed because Nina is only 8 years younger than David.
* David also laughed at how fans would come up to him saying how they cried and sobbed at John's death. He said 'But you all hated the character because he was a bastard.' But was grateful because at least it meant he got to die a good, noble death if it meant fans were upset that he died. He said at least at the end John redeemed himself by giving up his life for Elena's.
* David was asked if he could be any other character on the show, who would it be. He said that was easy. He'd want to play Damon, because Ian gets to say and do all the truly fun things as Damon.
Zach Roerig - aka Matt Donovan
Funny funny guy. So lively and hilarious. The talk he did with David had everyone in stitches. Especially when the two of them did a Dance Off, on stage. Pretty good the pair of them in fact.
* I asked Zach if Matt could have either Caroline or Elena back, which one would Matt take. He said he believed Matt would take Elena back because he still loves her and in fact the only reason Matt hasn't left Mystic Falls is because of Elena. (Sheesh why do men love that girl so much? o_o). Personally though, he said if it were up to him in real life, he'd take both. LOL
* Zach also revealed something that had been cut out of the show. To do with his mother, played by Melinda Clarke. In scenes that were cut out it was revealed that Matt's mom was a Succubus, hinting at the possibility that Matt would turn out to be an Incubus. But they cut that out and decided not to go with it.
* Zach said he's happy to play the human character in the show and not be a supernatural being.
* Like David, Zach said if he could play any other character on the show, it would be Damon, for the same reasons as David said.
I guess Damon (understandably) is a coveted role :D
Michael Trevino - aka Tyler Lockwood
Another great guy. In fact every single guest was just awesome.
* Michael revealed that he didn't really enjoy doing the transformation scenes in the show. Found them very taxing and tiring.
* I asked him what did he think would happen if his mother found out Tyler was a werewolf. He felt that his mother would accept him and it not be all messed up like the Sheriff and Caroline's relationship (because that has always been a damaged mother/daughter relationship). He said he wouldn't be surprised if his mother already knew about the Lockwood-werewolf thing.
* He said he would love it if they would do flashbacks for the Lockwood family so that we could learn how the werewolf thing came about.
That is about all I can remember. I'm sure there will be better more detailed reports appearing in various TVD locations.
