orchestra is awesome!

I went to the first orchestra rehearsal of this semester tonight - it was great! We are playing the Academic Overture by Brahms which is a really majestic fun piece and also Ravel's piano concerto no. 1. That has some amazing parts with this bouncy interplay between winds and strings' pizzicato. Both pieces have some hard parts but if we get it put together our concert will be wonderful. Then I am in chamber orchestra as well - the music for our first concert is pretty easy since it is in two weeks. Probably my favorite that we are doing is the Barber Adagio. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! As far as school goes, my classes look better this semester, not in terms of difficulty, but in terms of teachers and times. I have classes starting at nine o'clock a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but on Tuesday and Thursday my first class is at noon! Yippee! However, the one bad thing is the I had to get a physics lab from 7 to 9:30 on Thursday night! Awful! Other than that, I think this semester will be good. I like my chem. teacher better than last semester and I have chem. recitation in the afternoon instead of the morning now. My Calc. III teacher is actually a good teacher as opposed to the professor I had for Calc. II last semester, and this semester they decided that Calc. III would no longer require Matlab assignments or homework that must be turned in. We still have homework, but not for a grade. I also have a physics teacher this semester who is much better, in the afternoon instead of the morning. He is Swedish, I think, and Julie had him last semester and said he sounded like Yogi Bear. He really does!! Finally, I am taking Intro. to Psychology and the professors are both really cool - that class should be super interesting. So all in all, I think this semester is much better already. Guess that's all now - got to go delve into psych. reading!
