Wow! An Actual Update!!

So, yeah, summer's almost over and the only thing I've posted all summer is Aiden's birth announcement . . . wow . . . LAZY!! Hell I've had phone post access since before I left the dorms, and I haven't even used that yet!!

Lessee, summer's been pretty good so far. I've been working at Tokyo for awhile, and I like it alot. After every shift (lunch shift included) they give me something to eat, whether it be sushi, gyudon, homemade yakisoba, or curry noodles stir-fried with gyudon beef and onions (YUM!). Tommy-san is seriously the best cook/sushi maker ever.  I'm learning how to cook everything there, even curry noodles, various types of sushi (especially how to make the rice and gari properly. The only thing I really wish I knew how to make is spicy fried squid :( Now all i really need for my kitchen is a wok, an electric rice cooker, and some sushi plates. I've discovered that I really like California rolls but that everyone around here makes them completely wrong. Tommy-san said that in order to make crab salad properly, you have to use mayo and crab, and then put the avacado in later when you make the maki rolls, Anything else is wrong, especially using cream cheese or sour cream. It gives the rolls too sharp a taste, he says, Plus you're crazy for even thinking of using either of those to make crab salad. He laughed when I told him that I knew people that did. lol My tips are always twice as much as what I make on my paycheck, (which is pretty skimpy since I get paid $3.50 an hour) But the hours, food, and tips are excellent. We now have an excellent view of the bay now that they demolished the block that the old cinema was on to make way for the new Petoskey Pointe project. We have a great view of the sunset, but Tommy-san complains because all of that extra sunlight coming in makes him too hot when he's in front of the window making sushi.

It also looks like I'll be going to Japan for a few weeks next summer on the sister city exchange trip. We'll be staying with host families the whole time instead of staying at a hotel, so it makes the whole trip quite cheap, I just have to make sure i get my passport paperwork done soon. I'm getting really excited about it.

Hmm, what else . . . . I caught up with an old friend that I haven't seen since she moved away in eighth grade. We've kept in touch via Myspace, and she recently came up here (from North Carolina) for a family reunion with her younger sister. We had a great time catching up. We went bowling and talked for several hours. We plan to keep in touch over the phone more often now. ;)

Apparently the Powerpuff Girls have arrived in Japan under the name "Powerpuff Girls Z" the show is really funny but not very similar to the original. All the characters are there, Prof. Utonium, the Mayor, and Miss Bellum, but they changed around A LOT of things. I'm downloading episode 5 right now ^_^

I've been able to catch up with a lot of my anime this summer. (Thank God for Bittorrent!!) Especially Boukenger, and the 2nd seasons of Tsubasa Chronicle and Ah! My Goddess, and Magiranger, as well as Dekaranger. The ending of Magiranger really made me cry. It was soo cute! I think their okaasan is soo wonderful^_^ I also managed to get Utena and all of Fushigi Yugi as well.

I got an external DVD-RW drive (dual layer) for my computer. It works like a dream and came with a shit-ton of Nero software. I can do just about anything under the sun with it now. I'm thinking of transferring my episodes of Sailor Stars over to DVD now, and maybe PGSM in the future. I bought some slim DVD cases (like the ones movies come in) to decorate on my computer s they look nice on me shelf. I also fixed my PocketPC so I'll be able to use that this semester. I just need to reinstall the software for the keyboard, and get it a memory stick for my mp3s. Maybe a wireless card too if it's not too expensive.

I've nealy beaten New Super Mario Bros. 100%. I just need to get 6 more level coins in world 8 and then i'm done. i've had to compete wih my mom and sister for game time though. They're really addicted to the game.

I've been meaning to post my Toronto travel journal, but i don't have all the pictures on my computer yet. I'll post everthing and backdate the entries as soon as I can get everything together and scanned in.

I think that's it for now. If I think of anything else I'll post it later, maybe in a phone post even. Who knows!
