Yes, I just got back from New York. It was SO FUN! I'm not going to go
into a huge amount of detail because I'm completely zonked out and
totally out of it right now (I didn't go to sleep last night, I've been
up for a total of 30 hours so far, and pulling an all-nighter, although
fun, really takes a lot out of you), but it was amazing. I saw a grand
totall of 4 plays (well, two were stand-up comedies). I saw Phantom of
the Opera on Broadway, which was good. It was a bit disappointing
because I thought the singers could have been better, but I definitely
wouldn't have wanted to miss it. It's one of those things you have to
do, see Phantom on Broadway. Very worth it, and we had absolutely
marvelous seats, 3 rows from the very very front of the orchestra
section. We also went to see Wonderful Town, which was quite good,
starring Brooke Shields. It was a great play, very very good, and I
loved the dancing, hehe. Then we saw Whoopi Goldberg's stand-up comedy
show on Broadway (good, very funny), and Mario Cantone's stand-up
comedy show on Broadway (even better, really excellent and halarious).
Those were all really good. We also ate at some great restaurants, like
Tavern on the Green, Gobo, and Moustache (I mean, who gets to go to a
restaurant called Moustache?!) Wondeful food. We also stayed up until
at least 3 every night, and visited my cousin who moved to NY this
year. That was nice. We went shopping, and my aunt bought a Tiffany
bracelet from Tiffany & Co. I didn't buy anything, but the stuff in
there was beautiful! I just love New York, probably one of my favorite
places on the entire east coast. It's such a busy, bustling city, and
the coldness made it feel like a real winter, unlike Oak Park's little
breeziness for a winter. We had jackets and boots on all the time, all
wrapped up and warm, I loved it. We took the subway and the PATH almost
everywhere, which was fun (I like those, which is really strange...)
Anyway, I absolutely adore NY. Big city, everything's happening,
lights, people, crowds, stores, just the whole 'essence' of it it
awesome. I would seriously consider living there.... We stayed with and
spent our time with Mike, which was a blast, as always. Never a dull
moment when you have Mike on your right and Jace on your left. The
plane trip back was kinda bad, but that's fine, because the rest of the
trip was so great. I totally miss it, now! I want to go back! It was so
carefree and happy and nice and relaxing there, and then I come back to
the reality of Oak Park and school and warm weather and tests and
homework, and it was so much better there. Well, I'll have to get back
there sometime, although it might be awhile. It would be really cool if
I could just take a few days each month or every other month or
something to spend there, it would be awesome. I didn't get a souvenir
:(, but I'll always have my memories! I'm going to go and memorize all
my Julius Caesar lines right now, so I don't let my group down
tomorrow, but I still wanna be back in NY.
