OMG! I'm just glad that you're both okay! *hugs* That is really awful! I've had my purse stolen while shopping, but I've never had anyone break into my house. That's so scary! Make sure he locks the doors from now on! Ack! I hope everything else is okay. *more hugs*

I don't think he'll forget anytime soon! Replacing the contents of my wallet will be the suckiest thing.

Yeah - like what the heck do I use for ID? I had to get my original birth certificate out, but I really don't like carrying that around.
And I'm assuming, of course, that I can leave work at 3pm to get to the city before Medicare and the Dept of Transport and the banks close - it's a big ask, but of course none of those places are open on weekends.

Do you have your passport handy as well? This combined with proof of address (any bill with your name on it) and the birth cert should be suffecient to get a replacement licence. Did you get a copy of the statement from the police? That should also help.

Sorry to hear about this - some people are just pricks. But at least no one got hurt.

Best of luck on recovering the items.

I managed to talk my way around not having the necessary ID - the manager came out and asked me an insane amount of questions, and was eventually satisfied. Once I had the new license (thank goodness for the tacky QLD laminated licenses - SA licenses are posted out!), I was able to start the ball rolling on a new medicare card and Suncorp card.

Some of the Department of Transports are open on Saturdays till 12pm. I am pretty sure Sherwood is one of them but I don't know where else.

It's ok, I left work at 3 and managed to get there and talk my way around not having enough ID, so I have my new license now.
