I just got the best news in the mail today. It was a letter from the police notifying me that someone has been identified, located and arrested in connection with the investigation of our burglary!
THE BASTARDS HAVE BEEN CAUGHT!!
Lachlan is making phone calls now to see if we get any compensation out of this, whether it be the recovery of some of our stuff, or if we can sue the pricks.
I think this has made my day!
Edit: Lachlan found out from the detective that it was a young couple, between 18-21, with a dose-a-day drug habit. Our stuff wasn't found, but it's possible one of them might say if they sold it to a secondhand store or something. The male has apparently elected to go to drug court. We'll be contacted if the magistrate needs anything from us, but for now we just have to send another copy of our list of stolen stuff. The magistrate might rule that we get some financial compensation, but people like that won't have $5,500 just lying around.
