kaberett's lead and adding Cooking and Growing to this list.
Finished: Nothing. Not reading a whole lot this week.
Still reading: Alien Contact, Ed. Marty Halpern. I had already read the Gaiman short in this collection, which I remember loathing, but so far, the rest is entertaining alien what-if stories.
On Writing, by Stephen King, which I re-read every couple years.
Completely stalled on writing. It's a heck of a time, so I'm not worrying about it. I bought a membership to Masterclass, where Margaret Atwood has a course in fiction writing, which I'm looking forward to. Will do it as soon as I have some free hours and brainpower.
Still playing Lily's Garden. If history is any indication, I will mostly just play that for years until I'm tired of it. It was like that with Two Dots before this.
I very much enjoy my YouTube Music supermix, and that's what I usually select. Two songs it keeps serving me are "Shotgun Down The Avalanche" by Shawn Colvin, and "Me And Julio" by Paul Simon.
I don't know why I decided to watch "Holidate." I lasted about an hour.
James is watching Forged in Fire during our together-watching time, which is fine because I just mostly ignore it while we hang out on the couch, and we're both happy. I like cooking competitions, but I love to cook. Competitions about stuff I don't do or understand? Not fun for me.
Saturday night Svengoolie dates. This past one was "Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein," which reminds me of my mom, who always had a crush on Lou Costello.
Oh, and GBBO (Great British Bak(e-Off/ing Show)), which we also both really like, and which currently has new eps every Friday on Netflix.
Tomorrow is Cultural Annihilation Day and Thanksgiving, at least in our place. I am making a small traditional meal for the three of us, and I'll take a plate to the kid.
Turkey breast
Gravy
Dressing
Mashed potatoes
Corn
Simon's carrots
Maybe creamed peas
Maybe roasted butternut squash
Store-bought pie and whipped cream
Uncle Ed will make cranberry sauce and deviled eggs
The new budget has a line item for refreshing my Square Foot Garden. My mom was very nurturing and always overwatered the garden because she thought it was thirsty. I will try to be a little less attentive. Gonna refresh the soil and then plant some winter crops. Really looking forward to trying tomatoes again in the spring.
