Halfway there! I didn't want to post again so soon, but I wanted to get the
Hour 12 mini-challenge out of the way:
Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now? Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith
2. How many books have you read so far? Three total, but I've only finished one.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? But...that requires actually having a plan! ;) I'm looking at either Left Behind by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins (which I haven't read since...probably 8th grade) or dropping by B&N to pick something up.
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day? Not at all!
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? YES. I live with my family, so they've been in the house all day. I had a phone date with a friend, figuring out some things for an assignment. I had a pre-planned date with some friends this evening, so I'll be doing that. I think it's healthy that I'm taking some breaks that involve more than resting my eyes. XD
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? How FAST it goes! I feel like I've read for five minutes, and BAM! The post for the next hour is up!
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? I would love to see all the mini-challenges on one blog. I really love that they're hosted by different people, but I'd also like it if they were all in one place for me to find.
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year? Uh...read more. XD
9. Are you getting tired yet? I was, but then I went for a walk. I have TONS more energy now.
10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered? ...probably not. I will definitely read through other people's answers to this question though, for next time!
I also did the
Hour 11 challenge, in which I dragged my sister outside to walk around the block with me. It was delightful! We even sprinted for a bit of it. :D And then I went outside to read for a bit, since I realized how nice it is.
Still working on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It's a fun read, but I just can't process the words very quickly, so I'm only about 80 pages in. Annoying.
