To be honest, I generally won't join communities just to see icons unless I'm really interested in the content/quality of the artist. If I'm only casually interested or curious and I "have to join to see," then I don't bother. Especially if they've only posted one set that I'm interested in.

Thanks for your input. Thats what I am worried about, that if I unlock posts people would be more willing to join. :)

I think that's entirely up to you as the icon make/poster. If you feel that you do all you can do with an open community to stop icon stealing, it's your choice to live with it or lock the community.

I guess whether I lock or not, people can steal stuff but its up to me whether Im ok with that. I feel like that here isnt much I can do really, as I dont own the pictures.

I lock my stuff for different reasons, and I think it's entirely up to you whether you feel like locking your own graphics. Don't let anyone tell you what to do, hon. Some will complain, but really, how hard is it to join to check stuff out and leave if you don't like what you see?

Thats very true hon. I guess I am torn because I feel that everyone should be able to see my icons and I dont know if locking ultimately stops this from happening. However I had a think about that and that when you make icons and share them on the internet, you're always at risk and I dont think I should let that bother me.

I dont know. I would think if people wanted to see the icons bad enough they would just join. Everyone is different though so I guess go with your gut instinct or whatever you feel in your heart. I dont think there is any right or wrong in this case.

Thanks for your input. My gut instinct is to keep posts public, because most of mine are public for challenges and stuff anyway and it seems to be okay.

You're right and I dont think locking posts will stop it in any sense. Mmm. Thank you.
