So my b-day was Friday...it was un-eventful. Which is actually nice, because last year it was the worst day of my life. I was okay that nothing happened. Although I do miss when b-day's were actually fun events to look forward to. Now it's just another day and you happen to be a year older. 31 is suddenly sounding too old to me. I don't feel 31...I don't look it either. Thankfully. I still get carded for cigarettes all the time. And a few weeks ago some strange lady at a restaurant asked me if my 7 year old son was my brother. I told her that no, he was my son, and she said it was impossible. Told me that I looked 16. Now that was stretching it (but she was actually very insistent) to the point I finally got creeped out by her and moved across the room. But the point is, I still look young. That's something anyway...
In other news, I'm writing a new story. For what, you ask? No reason. Just because I like to write and this story is in my head begging to be written. It's very different than anything I've ever written before. There are no monsters or vampires. It's a comedy/romance. But the difference with this story is that I've written in journal style. It is the story of a couple, who manage to get together despite some funny (and not so funny) obstacles. But they both tell the story, in their journals, from their viewpoints. I dunno...I really like the idea and have never actually written anything in first person before (fiction wise). I mean, I write in first person here all the time. It's not as if I say, "Shoshanna had a good day today. She ate cake and went shopping." But to write an entire story like that is different. But I actually like it alot.
And the people in my story are 'real' people. They talk about Buffy and movies and other tv shows and compare their life to them. Because frankly, that's what people do. I read LJ and know for a fact most of you on my f-list can make a parallel in your life to something that happened on Buffy. I know I do...lol So that's who these people are. They are silly and a little dorky (like all of us) and I'm hoping that maybe someone might be interested in reading this story when it's done. It makes me happy to write it but I admit that I want other people to enjoy it too.
