I drove to campus around 8:45 this morning, fully intending to park wherever I wanted since it's finals week and was told last year that during finals week, you can park wherever you want on campus without getting a ticket. Alas, I pulled into the lot right by the comp sci building because that lot is most central to everywhere I had to go today, and right directly in front of me is the only car around with no permit hanging, and they had a ticket on their windshield. I thought about parking there anyway, thinking I could just appeal a ticket if I got one, but I wasn't sure if they'd actually LET me appeal it, and I don't have $75 to spend on a parking ticket just because I was in a hurry. Therefore, I pulled into the pay-to-park lot, expecting to pay $10 for the day. Luckily, I finished my 9am meeting a little early and left the lot in under an hour, only paying $2. I would have stayed all morning, but I don't really have $10 either. I came back to my room, went on the DOTS website, and lo and behold, cars without permits can park in any lots but lots 15 and 19 this week. What the heck? The CS lot is NOT lot 15, nor is it lot 19.
Things keep getting curiouser and curiouser.
