I really need to stop procrastinating until the night before exams. I've managed to get my paper-writing under control, so why can't I study ahead of time? Stupidly, I put off Kinship and Societies until last night around 7:00, at which point I got that phone call and my night got stressful. I needed to get out of the room (and, of course, it was Sunday night), so I went to Katie's apartment for an *interesting* episode of "Grey's Anatomy." (Oh, George!) When I got back, I forced myself to calm down and study for an hour and a half, which was surprisingly effective, and Chris came over to watch television so I wouldn't go too crazy alone. We then decided that popcorn would be a good idea, so Chris threw a bag in and soon noticed that it wasn't popping; I commented that Trisha's microwave had no balls. He opened the door, and, I guess it had heard me, because smoke started billowing out of the bag... but not just smoke. Some really noxious odor that strangely reminded me of Mr. Burnett's class accompanied it, and Chris ran from the room in a beater and bare feet to take it outside. Suddenly, I heard a crack like a glass breaking and got up to see what had happened, convinced a dish had fallen or something. Oh, but no... the plate on the bottom of Trisha's microwave had cracked literally in half. Um, oops. When Chris came back in, he told me that there was some congealed substance on the bottom of the bag that clearly wasn't popcorn and had apparently caught fire. Ew. So, the microwave was broken, my rooms and hallway smelled like nasty, and we were popcorn-less. What did we do? Went into Steph's room and asked to use her microwave. Her's survived, and the second attempt was delicious.
I'm not sure what to make of my Anthropology exam, but it's probably the most relaxed I've ever felt during a test. I had an hour and a half to write two essays that were only allowed to be a page each. Of course, I used the entire period because I spent the first half an hour writing notes, but I felt like I covered everything I needed. Still, I don't know whether I did well or not. It is a 300-level class, and it's my first exam in it, so... I guess I'll find out. On a decisively positive note, it was my last exam until after the break. Not only that, but it looks like the deadine on my English rough draft (due Wednesday) will be extended to after spring break as well. So, damn. I just have to make it through classes this week, and I'm set. Guess this would be a good time to get ahead on my THREE research papers.
Seoul Juice rehearsals start tonight. Honestly, I'm excited by the sheer ridiculousness of it all. I wonder if anyone will say anything about the fact that I'm, um... not Korean?
