The original plan of getting a job at Starbucks was to save up enough money to buy Aqua that she liked was falling by the wayside. Instead of just doing his job, Terra found that each day he walked into that demonic shop he was fighting for his life. There were days when he was fighting with other coworkers to be on the register, days when he had to handle massive complicated orders and days when he wanted to scratch out the company logo off the windows, paper cups, plastic cups, and anything else that had that horrible mermaid. He could understand why the shop was constantly hiring people--massive labor for little pay. Still, he trudged on and told himself he could do this. Terra more or less had become the Little Engine That Could.
Every night he came home he thought of how much closer he was to his goal. Soon he would have that necklace in his hands, quit his job (he already planned on announcing his two weeks notice to the entire shop while standing on top of a counter and burning the green apron of oppression) and never touch a cup of coffee ever again. However, every time he seemed close to obtaining his goal there were major set backs.
From working at Starbucks Terra's skin and hair soaked in the various scents of coffee. At first he didn't notice. He was surrounded by coffee every damn day and didn't pay attention to it. Aqua on the other hand did notice.
"Today's flavored coffee is coconut cream? Nice!" she told him, after taking a quick whiff of him. Once she did she ran up to the counter to order it. When she first did that Terra was aroused, but it was quickly shot when she was using him as her own personal Starbucks menu. And discount whore.
It was bad enough he was working at Starbucks, it was another to smell like it. So with one of his paychecks Terra traveled to the grocery store to pick up some new scented body wash. At first he tried Dove body was with cucumber extract, but that didn't cover up the smell. Next, he tried Axe. At first it was okay, but then he began to have a group of girls who followed him out of work and into the parking lot.
"Don't you want some hair action?" one of the girls called out. Thankfully Aqua came over and made the girls go away.
"Are you really THAT desperate to get girls?" Aqua asked, falling in step with Terra. He repressed the urge to blush and instead glared at his best friend/crush.
"No. I grabbed the wrong body wash..." he fibbed, thinking Aqua might buy the lie.
"Okay...but, just be careful. Wouldn't want you to get jumped or anything..." she murmured.
A silence fell over both of them as they walked towards Terra's car. Without even asking if Aqua needed a ride home, he opened the side door first before climbing in himself.
Fed up with Axe and smelling like a coffee addicted hobo Terra turned his attention to the one product he hadn't tried before...Old Spice. Sadly, the bundle he bought nearly wiped out his bank account. So he continued to slave over at Starbucks until FINALLY he saved up enough money to buy that stupid necklace. Now he just had to wait for the perfect moment to present his gift to Aqua.
Days later he appeared in front of Aqua's house, gift in and hand...with Ven sitting next to him.
"Think this'll work?" Ven asked as he texted Aqua to come outside.
"It has too..." if there was a God or some supernatural being up in heaven, it would work.
It only took three minutes for Aqua to open her door and stare, slack-jawed to see Terra and Ven...
"...Terra?" she asked, completely confused.
"...I'm on a horse," Terra replied. He bought a case of Old Spice and with that case came a horse...a free white horse.
"And Ven?"
The blonde-haired boy couldn't help, but grin. "I'm the man your man could smell like--"
Ven couldn't finish his sentence as he was promptly kicked off by Terra. Some where in the mix of making sure Ven didn't have a concussion, explaining the horse and getting Aqua to stop laughing, Terra gave her his gift...
"I think you're the man I want my man to smell like," she told him before giving him a light kiss.
