So it's been forever since I've written in this thing so I figured I'd be a good little girl and write in it for a little while. Of course it's about 1:15AM and after being up until 4AM last night and then getting up at 10 you would think I'd be in bed by now. But of course, that would be ridiculous. Tomorrow I have to work, another reason why I have to be in bed. Of course, it's only training for an hour so I'm convincing myself that while I must be present in Filenes, I'm not actually convinced that I have to be cognitively conscious. Erika will be there as well, she can fill me in on the details. Plus, after my insane on the job pre-christmas training at the fragrance counter, I feel I can do pretty much anything. Life is, and remains absolutely lovely. I feel like a fucking hallmark card every single time that I say that but it's wonderful to be so damn content with life.
I miss Ithaca. Don't get me wrong, I love being home, my friends here ROCK, but, there are certain things I love about Ithaca and certain people who are no longer in the same state as I am. Such knowledge makes me very sad. Regardless, I plan to have as much fun as possible before I go back. Grades for school were acceptable, so far I have two As, a B and a Pass..not as nice as I would have liked..but...as I said...acceptable.
I swear, I will never work at a fragrance counter again. The scents, while lovely in their own time and place are overwhelming and unbelievably stomach churning. I worked there for five days straight, 9-11 hours each day. Thanks to that I can now tell you exactly which perfumes Filenes carries and why no guy should ever, EVER, go to a fragrance counter without the name of the specific perfume that his wife or girlfriend likes or wants. ("Ummm...I'm looking for a perfume, it's in a bottle...I think the bottle is clear...." or "I think it's the perfume with that girl in the commerical..with the ocean..and a guy...is that a popular perfume? I think that's the one she likes..." "You're a girl right? (My favorite comment of them all) What would YOU wear? Whhhhhy??? What do you think of this..would SHE like this?") Anyways, at the end of my five days, the christmas eve, the woman I had been closing with for the past three days...handed me a card. I thanked her and tucked it into my bag. Later at home I opened up the card and a twenty-five dollar gift certificate fell out. I was floored. Speaking of being floored...two days after christmas I received two Christmas cards, one from the lovely Miss Phoebe (who enclosed that beautiful picture of our staff I've wanted for ages)and one from Carina, one of my residents!
As I jump around...Christmas was great..I saw my beloved cousin. She is hysterical and we are going to have so much fun in Florida!! On spring break...when I turn twenty-one...God.I can't stop saying that!! (childish giggling) I am now the proud owner of a really nice camera and while I will never even get to Rick or B's level of expertise, at least now I can pretend to be slightly photographically inclined (is that even a term..?) I threw at New Years party. The reasoning behind the party was that I was tired and didn't feel like party hopping or even going elsewhere. So..I spent 9 hours preparing for a party which went from 8PM to 11AM....well..8PM for some.. The logic for that one fails me. Regardless, it was a fun time. Sean showed up at 10 to 12, completely trashed out of his mind. I was so pissed, the boy is going to kill himself. Othe than that, the party went really smoothly, we played these really childish party games in the beginning and ended the night with Meghan getting pretty happily buzzed. Next year should be really interesting.
Jeff showed up new years eve day. That was cool...and random. He called me and then five minutes later the boy showed up. He seems pretty stressed and burned out, but hopefully he'll get switched to the day shift of 8-4 and be able to relax. I wish him the best.
OH YAY!! RICK AND B ARE ONLINE!!
