Currently, I am a Senior Business Systems Analyst. This means, in components, that I analyse business from a system (IT) point of view. It's really interesting to me as I've just gotten on the BA track in the last year. I'm not nearly as tech adept; I tend to be more attuned to business and user issues. But I think I'm pretty good at anticipating and understanding (and being able to translate) tech issues. I'm trying to figure out now how to move forward and up and where exactly "up" is. (Just had to do my self-eval too and I'm pretty impressed with myself and all the crap I got done last year, really.)

Translating between users and tech is key thing #1. Being sincere with the understanding of both sides is the second, I think. And learn the tech as you go along. Because it'll keep changing, but the nature of people won't.
