Going in for an outpatient procedure tomorrow. I have, in the words of my new pain management guy¹, cervical facet disease. Which means that my cervical facet nerves may be acting up and causing some or most of the neck and shoulder pain I experience hand in hand with the migraines.

He makes no promises about the migraines, but apparently my shoulder pain is something he can tell by just looking. So tomorrow he numbs up the cervical facet nerves. If that works, then there's some radio-something he wants to do which should provide even more relief.

He seems impassioned, which is good. I've tried trigger point injections, massage, physical therapy, acupuncture, and I still have reduced range of motion and extreme sensitivity in neck, shoulders, and pecs. Hopefully the new doctor caring will make a difference--especially if I can get both procedures and an MRI done before I go home for Christmas.

¹: The old guy, who had no openings before January, approved me switching to one of his co-workers.
