My friend simonejester and her husband are in the middle of getting ready to/actually moving from an army base in Alaska to an army base in Upstate New York. Not much of an improvement, but at least she'll be in the Lower 48.
The army is giving them the shaft when it comes to helping them move, as they had to give up their house & pack everything up something like a week and a half before they move. So they're crashing with some friends, which is a bit of good luck. But they're really monetarily stressed right now, and I want to help her. Unfortunately, I'm broke, and can't really do much to help her, except sit at my computer. Which gave me an idea, even tho I know I've always offered these for free before:
I'm offering to make custom icons, either still (25c)or animated (50c-$1 depending on difficulty) for anybody who wants them. just give me an idea of what you want, and I'll do it. You can be as specific or general in your requests as you want, and I'll try to make something good out of that. You can see some of my work over at dame_icons, and let me know what style you like.
I can also make custom layouts for any of you. I know that my current layout is from a layout community, but some layouts that I've written code for are: painful_poets, dame_icons, daily_migraine, spoon_exchange, pablo_asimov, popelizbet, sperose, refined_mirages, and 31daysleft.
Also there's number_24601 using S1 if you want to go that route.
Again, I need an image for a header, or just an idea, and I'll find one and run it by before you, and then give you the CSS code and instructions on how to install the layout.I'm not sure how much to charge for the layouts...we can negotiate based on how long/hard it is to get one to your liking. I'll charge less if you come up with a header yourself. I'm estimating somewhere between $2-$5 for a layout. I've never tried it, but if I can make it work, an animated header would run ~$7.
Oh! I also have a Pon & Zi mood theme that I've made that you could have for $4. I suppose if you give me a very proficient artist, or something like that, I can make custom mood themes for you as well. Those would be...maybe $10-$15(?) as those take a lot of work.
ALL of these prices are being pulled out of thin air, so feel free to bargain with me. The idea is just to raise some money for her and her hubby to try and pay their bills, and eek out a little breathing room until they get settled in New York.
I know that money's tight for a lot people right now, but if you could help out at all, it'd be great.
