I just got finished taking a test in RMC (Recording and Mixing Consoles) it was hard as heck! I don't really see the point in learning what a specific button of one specific consile is going to do in the long run. to see what the buttons do and how they relate is what is important. when we get out into the industry we will have our time to laern all that stuff. because we will have the actual consoles themselves. (maybe I am just ranting because I don't like the teacher that much, but I don't think many people do. apparently the feeling is mutual for him as well.
but atleast I have the ever entertaining music history to enjoy. (normally I suck at history, but this is fun stuff.) to see how music has been relating to events in history and such. (not to mention the fact that all the questions that are on the tests are in the book!) I got lucky.

I still don't know what area of Recording I want to go into. I am thinking Post Production would be the best area for me, but who knows, I had fun doing Audiotronics (I got to play will solder and a hot iron) Tech work pays really really well, but post does too when you get down to it, and they have better hours, in general (and I can take the work home with me if I wanted to.) (of course I can take gear and, and thinks like a pathcbay with me too) *sigh* MIdi tech... no... protools opperatior... well the certification I will definitely get, and Logic too... those are easy enough for someone like me to get, but I just don't know...post, studio engineer, tech, opperator, freelance engineer... uhg, I can't decide... they all have their perks, and lord knows one person over a peroid of time can do all of them... but where to start?... I guess I will wait till I finish the program to decide (I still have another 9 months after that till I need to have something lined up (go bachelors degree!!)) it sucks that they put post at the end of the program. then I wont be able to know till I DO finish...
listen to me ramble... I should get home now... I have some books to read (and a lab I need to get sleep for...) (not exactly the deepest thoughts of my life, but that is my major delema rightr now (well that and $$$))lol
